Just got back from Cheltenham and it was a great spectacle. Absolutely gutted about Our Conor. Never got the chance to show how good he could have been. Im glad i was proved right when i said that the fly wouldnt place in the race! Still in shock as to how Champagne Fever managed to get beaten in the Arkle!! As for Quevega...what can i say! Wonderful stuff and she brought the house down when she crossed the line in front

Just got back from Cheltenham and here a few thoughts:

Firstly, tragic to see Our Conor's demise. He was thankfully well away from the stands but when we saw the screen go up we knew it wasn't going to have a happy end. RIP.

Very, VERY full house today. Apologies to Woolly and Brough, could not get a ****ing signal on my Blackberry (maybe they knocked my device down the priority list as it is German <laugh>) to get together for a beer. Hope you had a good day <ok>

Backed Vautour in the opener, he was awesome and is already looking like next year's Arkle winner (this lad is a chaser - forget the Champion Hurdle). Clear he would win off the final bend and I think I heard he broke the track record? Very impressive. I backed Valdez in the Arkle who ran an honest race but wasn't good enough. Great ride from the much-maligned Tom Scu on the winner. For the 3 mile handicap I deserted Time For Rupert and went back to my Preview Evening pick, Ma Filleuile, who ran an absolute blinder and paid a nice place dividend on the Billy Goat (would have been nicer if he'd won though). In the Champion Hurdle I sensed alot of confidence around MTOY and he was the pick of the paddock, so I had a saver on him against my 13/2 voucher on HF. Age and the lively surface caught up with the champ, but on seeing the replay I was disappointed MTOY didn't win. Not McCoy's finest hour but well done Jezki and Barry Geraghty - a great win in a fast time. Then it was time to lump on Quevega who duly obliged - watched this from the inside of the track so didn't really experience the celebrations. Had a little e/w on L'Unique who ran a blinder for 3rd. In the 4-miler I backed Shotgun paddy who was agonisingly touched off after clouting the last fence. In the lucky last another e/w bet on Attaglance who was another unlucky second on the day for me. 8 bets on course today, 2 winners, 4 seconds a third and a fifth. But the highlight of the day was seeing Gardefort, who fell at the final fence in the last race, emerge from behind the dreaded screens after about 10 minutes and walk of back to the unsaddling enclosure. An emotional day for sure.

Not to worry Oddy...signal on my phone wasnt great either!

Just watched a replay of the Champion Hurdle and the run up the hill by The New One is even more impressive than it looked at the time, his turn of foot really is astonishing. Call it excuses but i genuinely think he was the best horse in that race and definitely the one to take out of it for next year. If my Quevega, Bobs Worth double comes in then i will definitely be having some money on TNO at 7/1 for next years champion. I know a lot can happen in a year but unless something similar happens i really cannot see him being beaten next year

I know how you feel Reebs. I was devastated when Darlan lost his life last year after becoming so attached to the horse throughout his short career
