Valiant effort tonight, no more and no less. Bayern still can't beat us in their own backyard despite the atrocious dive at the end there by Robben.

They just might retain it, 3rd final in a row if they do make it.

Ye just lacked that bit of genius up front

Only now it's history, you've been history in the competition for 5 years now, ;). And if United get their act together, you will most likely be out of it again for the foreseeable future.

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid should be a great match up this season.

  5. Oh I'm sorry, when did we start talking in past tense? I was quite clearly talking about the game that happened tonight and you responded to it <doh>

1-1 away to bayern isn't a bad result. They started to cheat like ****s the moment we scored. They looked shaken. But with the 2-0 result at the emirates we where always battling up hill. That red card ruined what could have been an amazing two legged game. Same as when rvp was sent off against barca.

The players shouldn't be too down after that as they put in a decent showing. It's all about the domestic double now ;)

In the last 5 years we have gone out to bayern twice, barca twice and ac Milan. Both bayern and barca went on to win the competition after putting us out and in those games we have had a win, draw two losses to barca, win draw two losses to bayern, win loss to Milan. Hardly a terrible record (especially considering both bayern and barca where at there peaks when we came up against them). And some very memorable fixtures. We may not have won it yet but I appreciate it being in it massively.

I love the OX. Great player and has such a positive outlook on the pitch, also speaks so well off the pitch.

And I responded back to your comment, and as for the history comment, you will find I was responding to another Scouser, not you.

Erm but these previous seasons have implications on now, which is why you're not in the competition, durrrrrrrr. It's not history, it's a FACT you haven't been in the UCL this season, in the present, and that's the 5th year in a row now, again that's not history.

Whether we win it or not we very much rub shoulders with the best teams in Europe. We don't lose to the minnows or get thrashed (like barca to bayern last season), we put in a good showing against the best in Europe.

By far your best player tonight.

You were much better when Ozil came off and Rosicky came on <ok>

We also missed two of our better players for these games. Walcott would been great tonight on the break. Their CB's and CM's were not the quickest and Walcott could have got at Dante. Oh well.
