What would happen if everyone earned over 100K and insisted on living in a council house?

Human being + power = corruption
It's a formula that holds true 90% of the time no matter what political persuasion.

Don't quite grasp how living in a house which is intended for people who can't afford to buy a house when earning £100,000 is an example of leadership.

Oh so that wasn't a eulogy then? K, my bad.

Doesn't seem much point trying to explain what is wrong about a champagne socialist, pretending to act on behalf of the downtrodden worker while allegedly pocketing 100k a year, allegedly taking someone who needs it council house, and allegedly eating in all the fine restaurants London has to offer to you, because it would be clearly futile. So, I ain't gonna bother. He was a Millwall fan, so, that should be enough eh?

This next bit will offend you.

Sorry but I've moved on, there's no point in trying to complain about political, religious or any of the other types of threads this forum is not meant for. It's called adapting to a situation. Takes some effort of course, change isn't always easy to deal with, but I think I've coped reasonably well. Rather than complaining, or reporting and being ignored, best thing is to just jump in and add my two penneth worth.

Claiming what someone else wrote was what you meant, when you clearly posted something entirely different, then crying over the reaction to your post is kinda lame btw.

Right, so just petty, crass and unproven allegations you garnered from a tabloid.

You know more than his members obviously.

So he didn't earn £100,000 a year, live in a council house or eat at very good restaurants, the person spotted there was a doppelganger presumably.

You rubbish a man and his life, so let’s hear it and let’s hear what you do that’s so great.

In accordance to what I read from you on here you are a man of no principle, no fight, just a fat consuming dredge willing to do exactly what he’s told.

Union members and leaders are not perfect, some get things right and wrong.

I have wondered what exactly society could do to people like you before you’d actually complain or fight back.

Of course, he should have been paid no wages whatsoever and merely eaten from tins of no frills food.

What the **** does that have to do with anything?

Tabloid mantra rubbishing a union leader. What a surprise.

There would probably be a lot more council houses(if everyone paid the correct amount of tax of course).

Bob Crow had his good points and his bad points,he was human, but overall he did what he thought was right for the members he represented.I would've preferred him in my corner over all the TGWU shop stewards I've had the pleasure? of working with in the past.

    RIP Bob Crow.

No. The other poster quoted those things. You said they were made up tabloid rubbish. So, on again, were they untrue or not?

I have no idea if it is true or not.

I would imagine that, yes, he has eaten in restaurants before.

I didn’t actually highlight what I dismissed or to what degree. But now you ask, I was most dismissive of this subjective claim: “a champagne socialist, pretending to act on behalf of the downtrodden worker” which I found the most scurrilous.

To clarify for you, I am also of the opinion that the irrelevant claims you highlight (and probably take most stock of) are part of a tabloid agenda against Crow.

Do you want me to spell out what I believe that agenda to be or can you suss that yourself?

Why would there be more council houses? Richer countries don't necessarily have more council houses than poor ones.Of course if everyone earned £100,000 it doesn't mean things would be better for most Certainly some would be getting a lot less which would please some but if everyone was earning the same it doesn't mean things would be any better for the majority.

Perhaps he’s lived in that council house all of his life, or just likes the people and the area.

    I don’t honestly know.

Could Crow have won in this one? If he lived in a better house you’d probably see it as proof he was morally bankrupt.

Well, he ate in restaurants and had holidays most of his membership couldn't afford. Or the majority of us come to that. So the label champagne socialist isn't misplaced. He is a socialist who enjoyed the finer things in life. I doubt if any of his members begrudged him it though this eulogising of him by some on here is ridiculous. He did the job he was paid for, like lots of other people.

I did see he was against the EU, so good for him on that. And he was pro capital punishment which would send some of the leftie types into seizures if advocated by someone on the right.

He was the leader of a large national union.

100k p.a. (whilst a lot for a working man agreed) is **** all for such a high powered job in London, with a lot of responsibility; and also **** all compared to what a lot of undeserving ****s get in this society for outsourcing or other hideous ****e.

But of course, let’s all round on a man who stood up for his members and who has proven results of helping his members.

Even though we know nothing of the circumstances, people attack him for eating in certain restaurants.

How often did he eat in these restaurants then? What did he order?

Does it really make the measure of the man?

Childish, baseless evidence only an idiot, or someone with an agenda, would take stock of.
