Day one saw some great performances.

Vautour produced possibly the best Supreme run I've seen. Champagne Fever was brilliant in the Arkle but was beaten by a horse many didn't really consider. I thought both were superb and can't wait to see Champagne Fever stepped up on trip. Quevega was not impressive but her feat was. Did anyone ever think they'd see a horse win 6 times at the Festival? There was also the terrible fall and subsequent death of Our Connor. A talented horse who was much loved in Ireland and on here by some. The agony and ecstasy of horse racing summed up in 7 races.

Day 2 is a tremendous card once again.

I'm well stocked on Faugheen in the Neptune. I really hope he's the animal many think he could be. Rathvinden has been tremendously well backed in recent days. 5/1 now. Really short to my eyes. Red Sherlock is 2nd fav. Not for me as I think ground will go against him but many will back him.

I'm on Ballycasey but wouldn't be hugely confident. I stuck him up LTO as a confident bet against Carlingford Lough and Don Cossack. He's picking up experience with every race and I think he'll only improve from grade one racing. The ground shouldn't hurt too much. If he's allowed time to get into a jumping rhythm he could be a big challenger in a race I don't see as particularly strong albeit with many horses seemingly of similar ability. This is the one I think could be special.

I don't know what the connections will think of drying ground for Star Neuville but it's too late for me. I'm on at 9/1. I was at a preview night last week and vibes were uber strong for this.

Best of luck to the men and women of the forum. Let's hope for a safe day. Let's hope for a winning day.

You dont know your arse from your elbow Bob, your putting me right off Briar Hill, Faugheen will get turned over tomorrow, and ive backed the ****ing thing.

Ballycasey got more chance winning my arse for a year than the RSA.

What's the chances of them watering the course over the night...? The times seemed to be quick, although that can be counter argued with where they were actually starting the bleedin stopwatch at...<doh>

It seemed to favour the horses with a feel for better ground and hinder the mud lovers... What do we think...?

Why have you posted on my thread? You've just said you're done with this forum. I stuck Faugheen up right at the start of the year and have all the best prices before you'd even thought of the Neptune.

Only a couple for me tomorrow. Smad place in the RSA - I think he's looked good over fences and likes Cheltenham so that's a plus and Captain Conan in a Champion Chase that I donl' think is that strong. I can't buy into the hype over Sire de Grugy.

Now let's get on with the business of thrashing the bookies........................ together.

Who thinks they can get more winners than I on Day 2?

GREAT day for WP Mullins all things considered on Day 1! I'm not going to desert the bandwagon tomorrow. #TeamMullins

Faugheen wins. Think Rathvinden can run a huge race, as Glens Melody did today when worrying us Quevega backers but hopeful Faugheen wins. Rathvinden has a massive chance of reversing Red Sherlock form, but that's hardy rocket science to predict. On Faugheen at decent prices of 11/2 and 9/2, Wouldn't rush in a at 9/4 now but it still should prove a class apart. I hope :)

RSA undecided. Have it down to Ballycasey, who like Vautour, could simply prove a class above, or Carlingford Lough. Tough race.

QM What a crock of ****e.

Have chanced Big Shu and Shaneshill in the Bumper.

Any word on watering the course? From a safety point of view I'd like to hope their at least considering it. No one wants any more fatalities or the crazy brigade will have a field day :(

Keep getting drawn to just a par at 33/1 in the RSA.

    It's an interesting day tomorrow.

    Neptune
No idea. I'll have Royal Boy and Rathvinden in my placepot. No other bets.

    RSA
I think that if you think that you need a horse who can handle good ground and can handle Cheltenham then to my mind the obvious pick is Le Bec. Corrin Wood is one I fancy but he's not shown his best (admittedly with little opportunity) on testing tracks like Cheltenham. I've backed both at 16/1 and 9/1 for small stakes.

    Coral Cup
All sorts of fun and games going on in here. Got to have a small bet on Son of Flicka at 33/1, running off the same mark he won this off a couple of years ago. Dell Arca has been nice and progressive this season and I think he might have another few pounds left in it. I'll probably have both in my placepot and back Son of Flicka for small stakes.

    Champion Chase
I think Sire De Grugy is a good price at 3/1 and I suspect he might be available at 7/2 at some point tomorrow. I'll probably have a bet if it does. Arvika looked very good in the Tied Cottage and even Wishful Thinking should be in with a squeak here at a long price. God only knows.

    Cross Country
I like the Cross Country, and it's been good to me previously. I think Balthazar King should be favourite here: 7/1 is a bet for me.

    Fred Winter
Orgiglo Bay looks a massive plot job. Paul Nichols has a good record in this race and he fancies Katgarry. That's good enough for me. Both in the placepot and I've had a squeak at Orgiglo Bay at 25/1 EW.

    Champion Bumper
I've never had a bet in this before, but I've looked into this one a bit more and I have it down to three. Value at Risk, Killultagh Vic and Black Hercules - I'll have a crack at the combi tricast for pennies - you've gotta hope!
