That was a great run by L'unique; only 5 years old and level weights.

Regardless of the change in timing method, the Champion Hurdle was run 1.15 secs faster than the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. In the Champion they were all out whereas Vautour was an easy winner, younger than the first 3 in the Champion, and carrying just 3lb less.

What do the experts here make of those facts, and the visible impressions of the 2 races, as regards his chances in next year's Champion Hurdle?

He was a beautiful big horse Reebs, whose potential we hadn't seen and that's what saddest about it. He could have been a monster next year.

I'm so grateful all the horses I've been attached to: my namesake, Kauto Star, the Fly all lived and raced into their bigger numbers. Longevity is such a gift and I'm just grateful Hurricane Fly will come home in his box tomorrow to fight another day. His defeat is secondary. That's my view anyway

Very sad but there are 250 bodies lying somewhere in the South China sea..a bit of perspective please.

Agreed Beefy. After a great day's racing with these wonderful horses and Quevega making history I should be feeling happy; but I feel totally depressed. The sadness of losing a horse cannot be described and I feel for all the connections of Our Connor. So much potential but so much more importantly, a loved horse (as they all are). Very distressing.

    Dex: Slack - cut some.

I know what you are saying - human life as opposed to equine life - and I won't say you are wrong. But as huimans, rightly or wrongly, we invest emotionally in things other than fellow humans.

I too have been seriously affected by today's events - I had watched and cheered OC, but with due deference, I don't know anyone on the missing flight, and we can only react to what affects us at any one time.

Perhaps Reebs...just not overly keen at being abused and told how I should react to the demise of a racehorse..regardless of how tragic the circumstances were.

Anyhow onto the 5.15...provided we're allowed to do that!

I see not much changes around here, differences of opinion should be accepted. If we were all tthe same life would be boring.

Sad as the death of Our Connor is for the horse and connections it's all part of the risks involved in the NH game and there will be many more.

Personally I feel sad but as I have no affiliation to the horse or connections I will move on, just saying like.

5.15 Cheltenham - Ericht 7/1 generally a race that NH does well in and there seems to be a little bit of money around, at 7/1 looks a decent bet

Quite a few to take from the 4m'er who didn't quite get home when running in 3m h'caps nto.

Suntiep very unlucky loser.Didn't jump at all well but was way out of his ground from an early stage.Irish National type perhaps after some intensive schooling.

The second also jumped appallingly and did well to be second.

Never had you down as a religious type M o G. I'm in no mood for frivolity-but we are all different and have conflicting views -I felt bad when Gary speed did himself in -didn't know the guy but he must have been in an awful place -others just made jokes,,, life go on,,

Jumping is the name of the game and that just cost Pendra there, two poor jumps at least that I saw and the one at the last completely checked his momentum.

Good run from Pendra and Ahyaknowyourself.

Has someone put that up a few days ago? Nass maybe?

Attaglance really should have won that.Another cracking finish.Poor decision from BH to go for the inner rail run but he was blocked off.

Pendra jumped poorly despite AP giving him a great sight at every fence and has done well to finish third...clearly well h'capped if he can brush up his fencing.

One could argue that we have had four really unlucky losers today,or put another way four horses that should have won but didn't.

I let you off the ****ing hook with that mullins rag at 4/7, you could at least have shown a bit of respect in return, you have came out with umpteen absurd statements that I have went out of my way to take it easy with.

**** my bet on The New One, id have paid double to see Our Conor get round safe. Money is paper lads, a fact that seems to be passing you by.
