Superb. Mullins loves the opening day at Cheltenham.....must not get into the trap of blindly following him in the next few days....

What Heis said. I'm very upset about OC but paradoxically thrilled with Quevega's performance. I'm also happy with L'Unique's 3rd place although she didn't carry my ew shilling.

Had a bet late yesterday on Ohio Gold e/w in the 5:15 at Cheltenham. Hope he gets some reward for his consistency without winning much?

With 4 wins and 5 places from 14 rides for Gigginstown House over the last year, Steven Clements rides ROGUE ANGEL for them in the 4 miler. They went close in this race with one last year and on breeding this better ground ought to really suit. Needs to bounce back from a shocker behind Foxrock, but this is the ground to do it on.

It's win win in first time blinkers prior to that had some decent enough future form in behind it and could benefit from a positive ride on todays better surface.

Quevega win with L'unique place has pretty much saved my day. Thought for a second she was about to get by both the Mullins horse!

Ending up sticking too much on Quevega but for all the joy one fatality is too much. Gutted about Our Conor, takes a shine off the whole thing. It's more than the money for me, I only bet at the biggish meetings anyway, when you see these horses get hurt, it gets you a bit down.

    Please water the track.

I genuinely cannot believe you heartless ****ing ****s talking about quevaga, what a dark ****ing day for racing, this what does my ****ing nut right in, I loved Our Conor before most of you ****ing pricks had even heard of him, I knew he had no chance in the Champion Hurdle. If we want to be harsh in hindsight, maybe they should have accepted Our Conor just was not strong enough today, and kept him back for next year once My Tent goes over fences and The Fly retires.

Every opinion on racing today just got blown to **** by a double barrell shot to the ****ing brain, im really disgusted by how ****ing easily brushed aside Our Conors death has been on here.

Endorsed. I have watched races that horses have died in before, and couldn't understand why this race has affected me so much. Then I realised it's the first time in 50 years that a horse I have invested in financially AND emotionally has been a fatality. I suppose I should be thankful for that - but it doesn't help much.

I'll play on - in fact all my bets were placed before today, but the shine has definitely gone from today's racing. And even if I got the next two winners, that wouldn't change.

    Unlikely as that may be!
