I thought the semi finals were both on ITV? Same days as the London Marathon. It'll be interesting. Best get the Megabus booked.
FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic will kick-off Semi-Final weekend against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium. ITV will show Latics against the Gunners at 5pm on Saturday 12 April. Uwe Rosler's men secured their return to Wembley after beating Manchester City in The FA Cup for the second time in 12 months. Sunday's re-run of last season’s Cup Final saw a Jordi Gomez penalty put Wigan in front at the Etihad before James Perch’s close range tap-in doubled the Championship side’s lead. Sami Nasri’s long range effort ensured a nervous end for the Championship outfit but they held on for a 2-1 victory. The second Semi-Final between Hull City and Sheffield United will kick-off at 4pm on Sunday 13 April and will be broadcast by BT Sport. Hull had a comfortable passage through to their first Semi-Final in over 80 years with a 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Sunday. The Blades booked their Wembley place earlier that day with a 2-0 win against Charlton Athletic. Nigel Clough’s League One team have now beaten Premier League opposition in Aston Villa and Fulham this season. Charlton were their second Championship scalp after they saw off Nottingham Forest in the Fifth Round. It’s the first time that a club from outside the top two divisions has featured in an FA Cup Semi-Final since Wycombe Wanderers in 2001. The FA also confirmed that Arsenal and Sheffield United will be given the West side of Wembley Stadium while Wigan Athletic and Hull City will be located on the East side. Ticket prices and allocations for the Semi-Finals will be announced later this week after discussions with all four competing clubs. http://www.thefa.com/news/the-fa-cup/2014/mar/fa-cup-semi-final-tie-dates#F5ivsyoQuXITjiKG.99
On Sunday there were quite a few dads bringing their young sons & daughters to a football game for the first time. What a shame that they wont be getting back to Hull until v late on the Sunday so may miss it. Unreal how TV dictates this cup competition. At least the pundits have an answer to the question 'why has the cup lost its magic' Rant over - off to get the tickets sorted
Yes, let's worry bout kids who have been to one game. You want to have a look at Spanish games. Kick off at 9pm sometimes but plenty of kids there. And they get up earlier for school than we do. I think the semi-final weekend is during a school, holiday so what is the problem with them stopping up late? We really have become a nation of wimps.
Have just been informed by the ticket office that it's highly unlikely that any tickets will be for sale on-line !!
Iv just heard from someone who works in the ticket office that it's 2 per season pass and any left over will be for general sale.
