I guess this is the point of contention in a nutshell. In the scheme of things 8 years isn't actually that long to go without winning a trophy. But for younger fans who are used to Arsenal winning regularly it seems like a long time. Remember Man Utd went 26 years without winning the league and the Spuds haven't won it in over half a century. I think we all share the frustrations of recent years, but some people see the bigger picture and the likely consequences of sacking Wenger on what would be a knee jerk decision.
Don't forget we also went 18 years without winning the league.Who would have thought in the 80's & 90's that Liverpool would go a minimum of 24 years without becoming champions.
If we win the semi against a championship side the chances are we will play a premier league side in the final
One thing is for sure, with the way people have responded to you guys being the only big side left and claiming Arsenal's name is already on the cup, the other teams have their team talks sorted out already Also worth pointing out that the other three must be looking at the competition as a great chance to achieve something too. I'm not claiming they will all expect to beat you, far from it as I think you guys should win it and questions should be asked if you don't. What I mean is, they'll be looking on and thinking "we'll never get a better opportunity than this". Maybe that doesn't apply so much to Wigan since they won it last year though. Sheff Utd will be in the Europa League next season should they get passed Hull and you guys win as expected. How crazy is that?
Don't count your chickens Cym. There's no guarantee of Arsenal playing a Premiership side in the final should they get past Wigan. Shef Utd are one of THE form teams in the UK right now - unbeaten in 9 - and they've knocked out 2 PL teams already.
Check out chelseas last 10 FA Cup season. No sides ever had it so easy. Have they played more than a handful of PL teams? Anyway, Arsenal wont win the FA Cup. Chances are you will be battling for 4th spot so priorities will be the league.
