I agree with this. We had thousands of pass holders who couldn't even be bothered to attend the quarter final in Hull and only had 16k at the game. I'll expect because we're playing a league one team lots of prem brigade pass holders will stay at home and wait for the final against arsenal. I hope I'm wrong but reckon we'll struggle to shift 25k and be well outnumbered.
I'm properly screwed if it's Saturday. It's my stag do and people have already paid for the hotels and stuff in Leeds.
Thats a bugger mate but can you imagine the state you'll be in on the Sunday too and to try and get to London like that!!
BT will want the city match purely for the reason their sport channels are the only business they get out of Hull because of KC's monopoly. If they get exclusive coverage of the semi final. They are liable to get lots of new subscribers. Has any other lower PL team been on BT as much as we have this season.
Was that when we played Wycombe or somebody like that, I was there sat in Best Stand and Sam Allerdyce was there watching somebody I think he was Blackpool manager at the time
No chance it will be massively oversubscribed I reckon we will get over 50,000 applications for tickets like last time, my son ( who was at the game yesterday ) and his three mates have cancelled their magic weekend so they will have the cash to go to the semi.
Hope your right, I'm just not very confident in our fans after the terrible turn out for the quarter final at £20. We'd definitely get 50,000 applicants for the final but not sure League One Sheff Utd will get the pulses racing for some of our fans who are getting spoilt with the Premier League.
Unfortunately you can't please everyone. Good job we only had 16,000 who could be bothered to go to the QF. Arsenal will have nearly 30,000 unhappy people who went to the QF who won't be able to get a ticket. Fortunately I can afford both. My lad, a season pass holder as well, can't and my other lad who can't get to many games as he works most Saturdays can't either. So it is going to cost me an arm and a leg but it most likely will never come around again in my lifetime so it will have to be done. They were the only kids in their school twenty odd years ago with City kits and have always stuck with them so I don't want them to miss out. Next expense could be getting a new passport as mine has run out.
I would have thought the club were thinking there is no need to be saving ticket stubs simply because no cup match has been anywhere near a sell out yet. There isn't the clamour for tickets like last time. Sundays gate was a prime example. Could be several reasons why but the biggest one is cost and the fact that every game is now shown live in pubs all over the city. There will be plenty of tickets for the semi final and because it is 'only' a semi final I can see people saving their cash for the Final, if we win. I have family members who are season ticket holders and others who go when they can and finding over a hundred notes for the very basic of a day out- just travel and cheapest seat, nothing else, is hard to justify. If you are stopping over the cost is that of a week in Spain for one game? Like Castro I have waited all my life for this so that puts me in the age bracket were I can thankfully afford to go to both games and help out others who are not so fortunate. The cost will put a lot of people off from going and not just in Hull.
Your quoting the reasons for not going as a fan rather than us supporters who will go regardless of cost because it's the semi final of the FA Cup, pricing the game up by comparing it to how many pints can you get for 20 quid like the fans who watched it in the pub or the price of a holiday for a full day out proves the difference between a fan and a supporter.
They have no choice which game they get. ITV choose which they want and BT get whatever is left. (Same used to happen when it was BBC and Sky).
I'm a supporter. Old school. I'd walk to Wembley for this one if I had too. My point is not everyone is so dedicated. I don't weigh up how many pints I can have if I save my ticket money and watch city in the pub instead, but many do. My other point is the very basic of cost for a day out to Wembley for a semi final is outrageous. We travelled down to Southampton for £25 this season, it will be nearly twice that just because it's Wembley. And the only reason for that is not that its further and cost more in diesel, it should be cheaper in fact, it's because the operators can get away with it because we are supporters and we will pay it regardless. Likewise ticket prices. Wembley will not be full to capacity but it just might be if the prices were a bit more reasonable. As I said I will be there and I will help get others there who otherwise couldn't afford it. But my post was simply trying to point out that there is no need to worry about not getting a ticket because if you have the readies you will have no problem.
All the seats made available to supporters will be sold out, the only empty seats will be corporate/sponsor tickets that didn't bother to turn up.
The lowest ever attendance for a competitive game was definitely Chester in the Autoglass and I was there.

The coach park is right next to the ground, but the walk depends where you're sat, the stadium has nearly a one mile circumference.
