They're through to the final already "Sunderland gifted them 3 goals today. We certainly have nothing to fear. " - Kenilworth "Fact of the matter is that if you get a side like Hull in the semi-final it is a dream come true." - Woodwardfan "Que sera sera whatever will be will be we're in the Europa League Que Sera sera!" - oaklandrdblade "so how would this happen? we'd have to beat hull and get to the final and hope arsenal qualify for the champons leeeeg?" - borbokis "both of those things will probably happen" - Gavlar "as Wigan win at City...need to play Arse in the final now." - sportinguista on playing in europe next season. Countered by a small amount of common sense by SwissBlade - "we can't be complacent or even believe that we just have to turn up to win." "Talking of respect I do not respect Hull Tigers at all. They have simply got to be the luckiest team in history." - JezzaBlade from Selby. Yes, I think we have been extremely lucky to be screwed over consistently by arsehole owners holding the club back Is education a problem across all of Yorkshire? "I'm more pissed off with the media that keep calling it a Yorkshire derby. I don't blame Hull for celebrating, but the day they are in Yorkshire, I'm a pig fan." - axel smeets. Shame your change of allegiance will result in you missing a Wembley FA cup semi final appearance. "It is technically in Yorkshire, but in a Primordial sense it just isn't. I genuinely only see West and South as 'real Yorkshire' in all honesty. Yorkshire is a culture, as much as a county, and I aren't convinced North or East come into this category. " - blader. Interesting, so the city of York isn't in real Yorkshire? You know, the county named after it? . Also strong opinion that we're just a plastic club full of plastic fans who followed their team hunting glory in the lower leagues for almost forever. "No pressure in this game and we CAN treat it as a day out. Bit of a plastic team are Hull, and very beatable." - gavtheblade "Hmm after the Citeh/Wigan result today i dont know weather i would have prefered Hull or Wigan. Both plastic clubs with plastic fans any road." - Kev Gee Sources - http://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?forums/general-blades-chat.5/ To be fair, there's more common sense on there than ****, but there's some royal bullshit nonetheless.
The thick ****'s never read a book by Winifred Holtby and has no understanding of the term "Ridings" or the fact that bits of Sheffield are in Derbyshire.
You see on here we're being quite cautious about underestimating them despite the being two divisions higher than them, but how the **** can fans of a team two divisions lower than their opposition be so dismissive of it as a hard game? It'd be like us drawing Galatasary (PL, Europa, CL?) and going "that's us in the next round easy enough, they're not Barcelona are they".
we are a mid-table prem team. they are where we where a few years ago.it will be interesting to visit that forum the day after our trip to Wembley.
"Even after yesterday's results, I'd still rather play Hull than Wigan. If ever we had a better chance of getting to the final, this is it." - blader "With their cup tied players, i'd say Hull Tigers are comparable to a top Championship side and, after our Jan business, we're comparable to a lower Championship side. As they say, anyone can beat anyone in the Championship......." - IOM Blade. Delusions of grandeur or what? ""We're the famous Sheff United, and we're **** at Wemberley" will do just fine - it suits the mood of everyone, and will suit the occasion in May." - georgebernards haw. It surely will do them just fine in the final in May, after they easily and predictably turn over a nothing plastic team like little old Hull City. All they have to do is turn up you know...
I for one hope we beat them like we did Fulham, or even better do what we did against Sunderland. Score all three in the last twenty minutes, the first to shut them up a little, the 2nd to show they're probably not going to get back into it and the 3rd as a great big kick in the balls. Sheffield United fans have always been deluded, theyre a lot like Leeds. living under their past glory. If they were so good and can beat Premier League teams and any championship team, why are they still stuck in League 1?
I don't think it's them thinking they can win that bothers, it's the fact they think we are **** and easy.
I just think they've got a good chance of progressing, which they do. Anything can happen at this stage, particularly in a derby at Wembley.
"I'm more pissed off with the media that keep calling it a Yorkshire derby. I don't blame Hull for celebrating, but the day they are in Yorkshire, I'm a pig fan. " - axel smeets "Talking of respect I do not respect Hull Tigers at all. They have simply got to be the luckiest team in history. Nearly go out of business due to crap crowds and having to walk around with blankets just to survive (nothing against this by the way I used to respect Hull at this point and felt sorry for them for having David Lloyd involved) but to then, because of some historic anomaly, when they we were separate from the rest of Britain but still claiming to be in Yorkshire, had white phone boxes instead of joining in with the rest of the country, got a free stadium. Hence the plastic fans arrive. You say some long in the tooth fans miss the Derbies. It was never a Derby your in and out of Yorkshire so often I bet the majority of East Hull don't know whether they are in or out now. I never considered it a Derby and I had the Mis-fortune of having to live in Hull at the time Keith Edwards saw the light and came back. There can't be that many long in the tooth fans left you only had a maximum of 4,000 on a good day at Boothferry. All the plastics you have now can't even remember then. Then you make such a cock up of your finances despite the free stadium that you are weeks if not days from going out of business when Haslam steps in. Wendy were slightly more lucky than you regarding how they were about to go to the wall, however Hull have been unbelievably lucky twice now, so I don't respect Hull or any club like MK Dons that has a football team plonked in their city. If it was built up over years of community then fair enough but Hull's was not as they would still be on 4,000 crowds if it wasn't for the free MFI KFC stadium. Have you walked from the Changing room to the pitch its like the walk on Spinal Tap where they can't find the stage." - jezzablade from Selby. What derby is this?
This is why I'll gladly cheer on Bradford as cup underdogs but this lot are getting ahead of themselves - on Wembley's wide -open spaces the likes of Huddlestone and co will outpass them. Bruce sets up according to the opposition.
It's a few numbnuts. Nothing to get p****d off about. We just need to tear them a new one on the pitch. It's a bit like the old chestnut from Leeds fans "You are too small a club to worry about, you are not even in Yorkshire, our rivalry is with ManUre etc" Also, has anyone else else noticed the lack of Leeds football shirts been worn around Hull. Nowadays, I see more Leeds Rhinos shirts about than TWS shirts.
We get underestimated by nearly every team and associated fans that we play, the more knowledgeable of their fans will know that they have not got much chance
Saw A VERMIN fan on Sat night poor ****, looking crestfallen. Assumed he'd just got back from the game, as no one in their right mind goes out in their team shirt after a 5-1 home defeat. Boy, did he make the wrong choice when he had the chance
