Harry Redknapp is set to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer if the West London club fail to earn promotion to the Premier League, according to reports.

After a promising start to the season, the R's find themselves in the Championship playoff places due to a recent slump in form and while the 67-year-old has a year left on his contract, the Sunday People claims that Redknapp is pondering his long-term future.

It is thought that the ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss would end his managerial career at the end of the season, should QPR fail to return to the top flight, while club owner Tony Fernandes believes he needs a new coach to lead an overhauled playing squad.

His side kept in contention for automatic promotion with a win at Birmingham City on Saturday.

This was last weeks news. Anyway if he does go it's got to be in the spring. The summer will be too late. Unless of course it's the first couple of weeks in summer which will make it still technically spring as summer often runs into the first few weeks of September nowadays.

If we're in the Championship next year then I hope we don't make an appearance on the top 20 earning manager list.

Very good article in the Sunday Times today on Sean Dyche, who will probably be a premiership manager soon so out of our league, I was impressed, if only because he obviously puts in a proper shift at work. Also in the paper the usual anti QPR bile (about the £ this time) from Rod Liddle, the worst kind of 'its all about me' journalist and alleged Millwall supporter.

It's a shame the Times has the most user friendly and attractive app. It seems to me that the Sunday Times is largely written by the same 4 ego centric hacks every week - uber pretentious AA Gill, poison dwarf Liddle, 'I've got one trick and I'm going to use it endlessly' pseudo shock hack Jeremy Clarkson (I quite like Top Gear, but it ceased being compulsory viewing in our house years ago, when they ran out of ideas) and '**** me, I have no talent and a job on the Sunday Times' Camilla Long. I really must stop reading it.

Harold can go any time he likes, fine by me.

    Mind games

He will want to soak in butter if when we make it up and he will stay then 100% If we fail however then I think he will have a bad knee

He plays the press like a game of 3 card brag

This article all on the back of a pre determined hint leak .. That's my bet

Its my gut feeling it will happen too, always has been.
Then again its like a fan who thinks his team will win 3-0 every week, we probably just can't face up to reality!

Him leaving is just as important as promotion, I shudder at the thought of redknapp having to buy 15 more thirty somethings, still rosie will do very well out of it.

I'll take pragmatic discussion over blind optimism any day.

It never fails to amaze me how some people confuse healthy criticism and a desire to debate other opinions, with a lack of support for the team. The irony is that those who aim to stifle debate, criticism or alternative views do so on a forum which is expressly provided to encourage debate, criticism etc.etc.

There are no right answers here...
