I watched the opening 20 mins of the first leg on Arsenal player again, and my god, we were sensational. Matched and had the best team in the world on the ropes. ****, that penalty miss.
I hope we play a strong team vut at the same time the NLD must also be taken into account when picking the squad. Good thing is we're expected to lose so the players have little pressure and we usually play better when the pressure is off
in this game we need to start insanely quickly and be at least 2-0 up at the break to stand a chance. then we need to sit back, soak up pressure and hopefully get a counter-attack goal. we need all our players to put top performances in, but if things aren't working then wenger has to change things immediately with substitutions. if giroud isn't holding the ball up well enough, sanogo needs to be brought on as soon as thats apparent. if any of our midfielders are having bad days, then sub them off for rosicky.
Not many teams could live with us when we play at our best but we don't do that often enough for my liking. Confident we could beat any team in Europe on our day. This is a win win situation, we go out as expected and we can focus on the league and the cup. Win and the momentum it would give us would carry on to greater things.
Arsene Wenger believes Mesut Ozil is finally over with his penalty miss nightmare. He should bounce back! http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ne-wenger-says-mesut-ozil-is-over-his-penalty
Tight hamstring, you don't want to risk it, err on the side of caution and just have him have a weeks rest.
Found the team news on arsenal.com pretty funny: Arsenal: Koscielny (doubt - hamstring), Szczesny (suspended), Gibbs (thigh), Monreal (doubt), Wilshere (foot), Ramsey (thigh), Kallstrom (back), Walcott (knee), Diaby (knee) Bayern: Badstuber (knee) I felt like we would be quite competitive in this game (at the very least go out respectably like last season) if we at least had our standard back 4 on. Really don't want Vermaelen to start.
Giroud will need to be at his very best tonight. We need a rare big performance from the guy. Its all very well performing against the likes of Everton but its about time the Frenchman gave us a decent performance in a big game.
Vermaelen starting makes me nervous, at the moment he isn't worthy to lace Kosc boots. He's a good defender but Kosc is a total boss.
Can't wait for this one. I spend cl nights just sitting waiting for the game to start lol absolutely love being in the championship league. Not bothered what anyone else says being in the CL means something, as a club and to the fans. Don't know how anyone is able to not get excited for these fixtures
Fabianski, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Arteta, Ox-Chambo; Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski; Giroud
