Beating the worst teams in the prem? You say it as if liverpool have never struggled against the weaker sides. Irony eh? Turns up just about anywhere. If I were you guys i'd be hoping liverpool win, imagine if it all went wrong. United, Newcastle, Liverpool, arsenal, city, Chelsea. At some point in the past few years, these clubs have all got a little to cocky and come to regret it. Wonder if another will be added to the list.... Not including arsenal.
irony? is that when you have been on top its our cup final, we are on top its our cup final? hmm irony indeed lol. no idea how old you are uir, but i am guessing you havent seen enough of utd being ****e down the years, so who is the cocky one really. i was born in 75 when we both dominated europe as well as the league, glory supporter you cry! well i am still here, are you used to seeing your team play ****e, going to stick with them through thick and thin?, if so fair enough, wonder how many of your fellow supporters share the same opinion or change team just so they can wear the top of the latest winner lol. we are not doing too badly for a team that hasn't had cl football for so long, see that's the pull of proper winners you may do the same when you are in our position, guess time will tell.
You base all your points on Utd's former manager's exploits and that has no bearing on the new order in the prem. History is all well and good in context but just accept this season is year zero for Utd.
Its one season page. I wouldnt say there is a new order based on one season. Money is a huge part of the game and united have loads of it. United have been poor this season, very poor for our standards but it wont last. As for this being your cup final, to be perfectly honest, every game from now til the end of the season is a cup final for you guys, the United game being the biggest of the lot on paper. A loss will hurt you guys more than us because you have something to play for.
You are right in the part that every game is important to us. Man Utd is the equivalent of Stoke, both difficult away fixtures, one because of anti-football, set-pieces and fouls, the other because of anti-football, set-pieces, fouls and bent refs. The biggest ones concerning any title possibilties are the City and Chelsea games. The biggest one to guarantee CL football is the Spurs one. Now the FA Cup draw means only top 6 get Europa, the game means far more to you (if that's something you want next season).
money had nothing to do with you getting mata, that was mourinho's stubbornness that you got lucky in he sold a class player. i can see the attraction of players wanting to play for utd, unfortunately for you lot, that also includes having to play under hoofball moyes, just have to hope there is a few mercenaries willing to go who care only for the money maybe.
Players sign for clubs without managers. I doubt they care too much. Money and fame is the prime reason for signing these days. Fame comes from expossure and that comes from the club you play for.
WOW... thats utter rot and you know it. the whole package attracts top players. CL only means CL money and CL wages to half the players out there. You paid 37mil and utd got a player mourinho thinks is too slow. nobody else bid did they? Its like owen going to newcastle. if you throw that much at it nobody else tries so by default you get the player who wanted a move anywhere. Sorry but if you lot leave moyes in charge you'll have mroe rejections than players jumping at you.... IF they have options. think about it..... it suited mourinho to not even bother play hard ball and demand rooney in return. He wanted the guy gone to get in money to turn around their finances for the year. Had this been a player valued by mourinho he would never strengthen your hand and frankly if he had played hard ball you were toast. He let the guy go anywhere. IMO big mistake by mourinho but he clearly doens't think that even with mata utd are going to be close to him next year. He's got his defenders, his DM and all he wants is a drogba now to donkey it at and he'll be happy.
Poor uir equating a cup final in 1996 to them being 11 points back with.... A whole 10 games to go Shall we explain the reality here? This is how funny uir has been..... It OUR cup final hilarious...... We don't need to win, it's must win or total bust for utd and it it's ours not theirs
TBH this game has a really weird feel about it. For this first time in a long time LFC are expected to win at OT, i have never really expected to win any liverpool vs united game so that feeling in itself is weird. But also there's a strange kind of feeling that despite it being one of the big games of the season it would be a little embarrassing if we lost. I have never actually thought this about a lfc utd game, just wondering if utd fans used to be embarrassed by losing to the poor liverpool sides of the past? Obviously on form LFC should win but we know very well that form can mean nothing in this fixture .
I'm not expecting a win, I'm expecting to be Webbed, but that's ok so long as we don't get any injuries and can take a positive performance into our remaining games.
Looking forward to the game, I just hope I'm a happy man after the game. I don't really enjoy this fixture and am glad once it's over if we win I'll watch it on MOTD and enjoy it then.
I don't understand why the FA put Webb in charge of a match like this. They really must live in an ivory tower, immune to the opinions of others in the game. I know he's supposed to be the best we have (God help us if that's true), but he's been roundly criticised this season by almost everyone, including other (retired) refs. Regardless of whether or not our criticism of his decisions is biased, no-one can deny he's been caught up in a load of controversy this season, and I'd have thought they would want to put someone more courageous and less inflammatory in charge of such a volatile fixture.
yeah you do sadly. just hope none of our players get injuries and out for the season, as i am expecting it to be honest.
Man Utd have won 100% of their home games with Webb since 08/09. Liverpool have won 18% of their away games with Webb since 08/09. If you are the betting type, these statistics are a licence to print money. The bookies have Man Utd favourites to win despite being 11 points and 4 places below us and in far worse form and fitness. They are not stupid
I have a bad feeling about this game... Its the same feeling I had just before we played Spurs Away, Everton Home, Arsenal Home and Saints Away... Hmmm Maybe I should have bad feelings about our impending games more often. Would love to win this game, that goes without saying but I can see us drawing or worse losing, just a nagging voice inside me head that won't go away!
