Hello everyone, After having a peruse around this forum and the members that are already on, I felt that I wanted to join this forum. Some may know me already... however if not I prefer flat racing over jumps, and like following all types of races whether that be AW or G1's, I've been to the 2000gns, Derby and a few meetings at York, Ponty, and Uttoxeter this year also. Fav horse atm is Workforce followed by Frankel. Hopefully I'll be contributing more and more..
Welcome cats. If you want to join in on the Betting Comp you have £1000 to play with. You'll see the comp at the top and from there there is a like to the rules. I'd like to think this is one of the most flexible competitions around. You will see that other competitions are being considered at present. Nobody wants loads of competitions; it's a case of finding something for everyone to enjoy at their leisure and having a choice that suits them best, and balancing this against not having too many. Cheers Ron
Hi Chippy. Sorry didn't spot you here. Welcome, and feel free to "chip in" with the Betting Competiton. Just one day to go.
Welcome Cats, good to have another "old boy" from 606 on here, it's getting quite busy. It's a good forum. It's just like 606 realy. Looks like your boy Workforce is going to be hard to stop now So You Think has flopped, I can see him doing back to back Arcs. Even though I did doubt his chances in his first win On the subject of Degs, you had to admire his dedication to the cometitions he ran, he put alot of time and effort into running them, he was also a very good tipster, and realy did know his racing! So he would be very much welcome on this board if he decided to create an account
Hey mate, nice to see you here. As each week goes by, we're beginning to see more of the 606 old guard showing up. Bit of a painful season for the Cats I see, but good to see them get home over the Giants last week. They must be a big chance against Harlequins. Fingers crossed. It was a bad week for the Maroons too, we went down to New South Wales in game 2 of the State of Origin. Thankfully, the decider is in Brisbane.
Good to see you here. What did you make of Fiorente? My guess is he';ll go for the Gordon Stakes now just like their last KEVII 2nd Conduit (hope so as that's the only UK meeting I'll see this year). On another forum pN was saying Moore is going around saying this is the second best horse in the yard (after Workforce?). Strange if it is as the Irish Derby recent entries didn't include him but did include Ballymacoll's Fruehling: yet to run so how good is he? In the Epsom Derby there were two other Ballymacoll's entered Tonnere and Dumbarton. Now I I know they were entered as young yearlings but were still entered up to May: so how good are they? Could be that Ballymacoll may have another year like 2008 when they had Conduit, Tartan Bearer and Patkai as 3yos. Fiorente's dam has now had 3 winners from her first 3 runners and her 4th foal to go into training is the 2yo Cechetti's Method by Danehill Dancer. Somehow I'd find it hard to believe at this point that Desert Bloom by Pilsudski out of a Green Desert mare will produce a Leger winner. So I'll wait to see Fiorente's next run.
Welcome CATS! I don't post often on Fugees but look in occassionally, you seem to tip you're fair share of winners! As Woolcombe states above we seem to have a fair few good judges, so more the better!
Hi Cyc, Painful is not quite the word. Frustrating is.. we cannot put back to back performance together at all... we grind out wins with some tough rugby get some confidence and then play soft the following week. I've watched both SOO games this year absolutely brill and thought perhaps the NSW deserved both so far (sorry!) decider at suncorp I believe should be a cracker of a game. Best of luck
Hi Bustino, another poster I respect the opinions off. I was impressed with Fiorente especially as he only got the idea late on, re his route forwards.. Ill trust your knowledge and agree with you on that. I indeed also read those opinions and tbh i don't think they can be right.. Fiorente better than CH.? However I believe he's a nice horse Freuhling and Dumbarton I believe both had big entries last year and i've heard no whispers on either of them.. however I have on a few other un raced types which we'll hopefully see soon. I think its an intriguing time for Ballymacoll and SMS as he's had a relatively slow year so far although as we both know he kicks on from June/July onwards, and im sure we'll keep track of that.
Thanks Cats. Further to the Moore statement apparently when Stoute was asked if Fiorente's target was the Leger he said 'I hope he's better than that'. Well that's quite a bullish statement!! Intrigued you've got a few more quiet ones: just Stoute's or Ballymacoll's? And yes Stoute is having a quiet time, frustrating to back at the moment as they are just not getting there. Maybe July will see a change.
