Citing "Football differences". Or in other words, "I wanted to sign players and compete in this division but they want to sell everyone and become Standard Liege B".

Gutted, if you think he is the man for the job or not, i am sure we are all in agreement things are not looking good in the boardroom. Looks like after we finally managed to get rid of Slater and Jimenez, we have ended up with something even more sinister.

    Oh dear.....

    Cryptic tweet from Andy Ansah...:

To my fellow #Charlton fans there is disappointment from today's loss.
The truth will surface behind it.
    I won't say no more.

Football differences? You mean Roland wants us to play football... not what we've done against Leicester and now United

I appreciate all Powell has done and one day he will succeed somewhere else... but I don't want to have to wait longer for that to happen. Wish him all the best if he does go... and just as with Parky I would buy him a drink if I saw him....compared to punching or headbutting Dowie or Pardew.

He should go and for his reputation say it is problem with the take over....then again he should have left when Yann was sold, I would have, and most of us would have.

Saw that, rumour is he is resigning. Does not bode well, we already know several things RD and Co have said recently are very worrying, so what else has been added to this list to make Powell consider walking if true? Very concerned

Surely if he is too resign we should fear the worst. If a man who loves the club to bits can't stand they way he is being controlled by the board what half decent manager would want to join this sinking ship. Guarantee we will have a foreign manager who no one has ever heard of replace him and if that does happen which is a high probability that people calling for Powell's head will have to be guilty for it.

If it's so bad for Powell why don't he just walk...? After all he's out of contract so there's no value in him staying until they **** him off cos there's no bloody contract for them to pay up.

He missed a trick not walking when they sold Kermorgant, Stephens & Allnwick from behind his back. No Charlton fan would've blamed him if he went then.

The longer he hangs around and presides over such pathetic, disgraceful performances as was seen by the footballing world today, the more damage it will do to his reputation as a football manager.

That has been my argument for keeping him... no self respecting manager would want it, and we get the Liege u12s boss....but Powell has taken it as far as he can at the moment. Sorry to say it, he can go elsewhere and build his reputation up again, and I have no doubt he will manager in the prem one day.... but he won't do it with us

If Powell goes on his own, then ok, fair enough, it is about three months too late, but will save him from the humiliation of relegation.

It will also costs Roly 5 million pounds if he got a real manager in who could undo all the bad work and actually keep us up. Roly is better off if we get relegated.

Roly is playing us. He will turn round at relegation and say "you lot wanted him, and he let you down" (secretly loving the fact that relegation has saved him 5 mill) then CP gets sacked nobody blames Roly and he can then appoint his sister or whatever to turn the club into a boot sale with nobody saying a word.

Best thing if Powell stayed would be Hamer and Wilson sign new contracts, the only players apart from Wiggins who has any hint of good performance this season if you ask me.

Why should any fan feel guilty about wanting Powell to leave? The fact is we need to try something different before the end of the season and, if rumours are true, CP would have walked away from us for the QPR job at the end of the season.

We are a desperate club, and we will still be supporting the club long after CP, Roland, and this shower of **** playing squad has moved on to pastures new.

I do not feel any guilt about wanting a change in management. I just feel sad that it hasn't worked out for CP, and I feel even sadder to think our club was associated with that abysmal showing today.

    Wise words as always Ponders...!!

With Kermorgant, Stephens & Allnwick sold from behind the managers back and only Tudgay coming in to plug the void left by said departures.

It's obvious that in spite of what our new board may say they clearly have not, do not and will not back Powell.

Like it or not that is their perogative as the owners of our football club. However, If that's how they wish to proceed then they ought to do the right thing and put the man out of his misery and f**k him off out of it, and appoint a manager who they trust to run the club and whom they will back.

It's obvious that Powell is reluctant to walk because of his affiliation to the club so that decision needs to be made for him.

Duchatelet is the type of character who should never have been allowed near an English football club in a million years. How on earth can it be good for Charlton if it benefits the owner to the tune of £4m if we are relegated? Talk about relegation being a price well worth paying.

We always hear a lot about Chris Powell's dignity blah blah blah but most other managers would have walked when they had three of their better players sold behind their back.

    100% true Franco.

RD pays Jiminez £16m if we stay up, but only £12m if we go down.

    Andy Ansah -

Are you a Charlton fan? If so, let us in on what you know.

Are you a pal of CP's? If so, tell him he needs to walk away.

Either way, your cryptic message makes you out to be self-important nerk.

I guess it's working out how much he can afford to run CAFC at a minimal loss, take our best players and continue to get SL in the Champions League? It's apparent he's come for the academy and not the ground like first assumed. If he can keep us running at a loss of around 4-7 million, will SL offset that? All of his other clubs wont be racking the losses we will for multiple factors - smaller stadiums, smaller wages etc.

Clearly just thinking aloud, but it is a depressing time.

**** me sideways, I never knew this...!!

If we get relegated RD could spend half of the 4m he'll save on getting us back up. 2m buys a squad well capable of getting out of League One.

    Ever the optimist...

Ponders. No reason to feel guilty either way. Of CP feels he should stay, it's his decision, and if he feels he' s been stabbed in the back, he can go (he's taken a while to figure it out) but no one on the terraces can have a say.
Mind you, I dread to think what sort of 20 year old manager we'll have foisted on us now.

PS Mr Ansah. What have you heard exactly? Put up or shut up!
