How many times have we heard if your good enough your young enough ? Age is bollocks on current form he should have been in that squad for the Denmark game.

How many world class players have we got ?
Cole: has been but is falling behind shaw and baines
Baines: not sure he's world class
Gerrard: has been, might be clinging to it but age is creeping up on him
Rooney: doesn't do it on the big stage, if he was world class Madrid, barca and Munich would have been in for him before he signed his contract (Madrid always get who they want out of the pl) but they all know they can get as good as or better cheaper

Think I'd rather have Davies and Chester as England's centre-halves than Smalling and Caulker.

Is Davies Premier League signing of the season?

Trying to think of a better one. Ozil's done well but when you pay that much you expect quality, some good loans (Remy, Lukaku, Barry, etc) but I think in terms of transfers Davies has been the pick of the bunch.

    This.

I've never seen him say anything in his position as a pundit that isn't just deliberately being the miserable, negative one. I find it incredible he's now involved with coaching.

This is the only reason I can think of to explain why he hasn't been picked this season. Roy has no interest in bringing someone in for one tournament it seems. Caulker isn't as good as Davies but he's what 23? So he'd rather take the young lad. Fair enough I suppose if he's going to be 3rd/4th choice anyway but I still think after Cahill we don't have anyone better than Davies at CB.

So what's the point in taking a 23 year old who's going to be 3/4 choice in that shower when you can take a 29 year old who can be either 1/2??

Roy needs to take players on form now not potentially because if he has a s****e tournament he's toast and it's on to the next manager who may never pick caulker again and we start this cycle again

John Terry is the one we should be trying to get back in the squad.

With him and Cahill at the back I genuinely think we could do something half decent. We'd at least stop Suarez scoring every single time he gets the ball.

Reminds me of a Tommy Cooper joke,

Tommy: Dr....my leg hurts in 2 places

Dr: Well don't go to those places.

Davies managed that earlier this season. It's clear you have preconceived thoughts on him from Leicester but maybe it's time to admit that you are wrong :emoticon-0148-yes:

He played about 5 games for Leicester, his debut (against you) was phenomenal but it soon became clear that he wasn't bothered with Championship football (lazy, argumentative etc) but i'm not daft enough to think that he's always like this (party because I've seen just about every game that Hull have been on television this season).

He was excellent for Birmingham and has gone on to make a good captain for Hull but there are players better than him and that is my opinion.

Rooney is better. Different position granted, but he is better

    Jagielka and Caulker.

That's 3 CBs and I would take Jones as utility boy to mop up any injuries.

EDIT; although ideally I'd rather we took John Terry because he's still the best English CB.

Caulker isn't that good. He really isn't

I'd take Lescott over Caulker and that is saying something on current form

Caulker could well be a better CB than Davies in the future, but right now he isn't, and that's why I think Davies should be ahead of him in the England pecking order at this stage.

See, this is why we say it's just because Davies plays for Hull City.

Caulker has done well in a Cardiff side that concedes a shedload of goals. Davies has been a big part of a defence that doesn't concede goals at an equally small club. What does Davies have to do to be considered as good as Caulker? It really does seem as though, in the neutral's eyes, if you play for Hull City you can't be that good.
