Sorry to have to say this to a possible gooner ( I have my doubts), but you are spouting ****e (again). Modric is overhyped, but if Levy can milk it for all it's worth then fair play to him.
Looks like the "He's not that good anyway" bullsh*t is starting already, he is the heart of the team and has to be persuaded to stay.
Sirtfireball is one of those people who thinks saying the other team's players are always rubbish is part of club rivalry, when in fact it just shows their ignorance
He doesnt have to be persuaded to stay. He signed a 6 year contract, 12 months ago and if he's true to his word he will not be leaving as we're not prepared to let him go and he's not prepared to hand in a transfer request. As far as I'm concerned he owes us one more season to get back in the CL.
Not at all. I rate many players from other teams, even a couple of Spurs players. I just believe that Modric is being overrated, mainly because he stands out in what is a slightly above average Spurs team who played above themselves the season before last. I believe Spurs have found themselves in a false position in the league because of Liverpool's problems and next season will prove me right or wrong I suppose. This doesn't mean you can't improve, of course it doesn't. You just need to make about 6 or 7 changes on the pitch, get a new manager and build a decent stadium.
Erm, yes really! Big clubs, including Arsenal, are infallible and never make poor signings? The fact you believe that goes to prove your lack of knowledge.
I always thought he was a great if overrated player. We shouldn't think it's the end of the world if he does go. Last season we stayed in the top 4 virtually through the whole of the campaign and this was when Modric was injured for the first half only to come back in the 2nd half not fully recovered. If he was the "heartbeat" of the side then surely we wouldn't have been able to do that? We may miss his possession but we won't miss his goals or assists. Just trying to be positive here.
You said they want/ed him so he must be good. I said their judgement isn't always right. Is it that hard to comprehend? Chelsea have made a bid that they knew would be rejected. Who has made a serious attempt at signing him?
False position?? We've finished in the top five 4 times out of the last 6 seasons, how many more times before you will consider us a top english side?
We barely got into the top 4 last season. We spent the majority of the season a few points off in 5th and he only missed a hanful of games last season and orchestrated a huge percentage of our attacks. Lets not start down playing his abillity and importance to the team simply because he wants to leave.
Yet more rubbish. I would be worshipping Modric if he wore Arsenal colours? Do you praise Denillson or Squillaci just because they are Arsenal players? Other teams do NOT have to respect anything said by Redknapp. If they truly thought he was as brilliant as you seem to think he is, they would make an offer. He isn't & they haven't.
Oops you're right, which is why I meant the season before last, not last season. Doh! If anything you may have highlighted why he's not irreplaceable. A fully fit Modric in good form wasn't enough to help us get into the top 4. That might seem like I'm clutching at straws but I don't think he's as key to us as people would believe. He's not as key to us as Fabregas is to Arsenal for example. When Modric has been absent it's seemed like we could cope.
Comprehension really isn't your strong point is it? lol You stated that I would rate Modric highly if he were to play for us. I proved you to be a fool by using the 2 named players as examples of the exact opposite. I would also say that I highly rate Sandro. Just to clarify for you, Sandro is a Spurs player and I rate him!!!! Amazing, but true. Bottom line is that I and nearly all of the top clubs currently rate Modric x out of 10 and you, Tottenham and Chelsea rate him y out of 10.
