Anyone hear this rumour - any truth to it - i know he was out for a long time last season with a groin injury
He's signed for Newcastle according to one of the local journos EDIT: just been on SSN he's an NUFC player!
yep just on Sky signed for Newcastle..so much for the reliable sources on other threads saying he was at Melwood taking a medical. Not overly bothered from what I have seen he was no great shakes!
Actually I wonder if we were ever seriously in for him.If we were I am sure we would have got him after all why would he choose Newcastle over the mighty 'Pool
from now on i am going to follow dalglish's advice - when the club has something to tell the fans they will tell us
well maybe they saw or found something they didnt like and wanted to change the conditions of his contract. If that is the case newcastle have jumped in very quickly.didnt hear any rumour of them being interested.
He was unable to agree personal terms: Source:http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...vain-marveaux-denies-liverpool-move-collapsed
We have got a fairly large, expanding French (and French speaking) contingent, maybe that had something to do with it. Have never seen the guy play... No point asking you guys what he's like though as you'll obviously say he's ****e
he looks pretty good but has been unlucky with injurys. I'm hoping we played a low ball change to the contract as we're closer to signing Downing or N'Zog
I'm actually quite glad - I was worried that the signing of Marveaux would mean no other LW signing, and Marveaux just isn't up to the standard that we need if we're going to be up there although he'd be a good squad player. I imagine we wanted to lower his wages and he got a better offer from Newcastle, therefore it's a no brainer - it's not like he has loyalty to either club.
I'm not going to slag the lad off as I know nothing about him and haven't seen enough of his play to make a solid decision. If he failed his medical then I feel sorry for him. If he couldn't agree terms then it is likely that his expectations were too high, However, it is surprising that he can't conclude a deal with Liverpool on Friday morning but has signed a contract with Newcastle by Saturday morning. If he does have a medical problem then Newcastle are taking a big risk. If it was terms then Newcastle will be paying a high price. Either way good luck to him and Newcastle. From a Liverpool perspective, I agree with Kenny's advice - wait until we have something to say.
It is weird. One thing is we signed him for free and we have a wage cap of around £50k so any signing should not be too much of a risk. We were interested in him a while ago but things died down. This signing took me completely off guard! I hope this does not cool our interest in N'Zogbia though. Mind you Whelan is probably revelling in ripping off Ashley so we may no actually get him
maybe the same doctor that did michael owens medical did the medical for marveaux - anyone could pass that examination if owen did
The Mirror reports our docs found the groin injury he was out for this season was still suspect: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...e-free-agent-move-in-doubt-article749061.html
