Which would make the fact that we've beaten you three times in the same Season without conceding a goal against you (1-0, 2-0 and 3-0) even worse. What's EVEN funnier, is the fact that Sunderland fans were hoping for an 11 vs 11 match because we wouldn't be able to beat them. Well...
That's why I add East Yorkshire. I live in the NE. (North of Newcastle) and don't consider Hull in any way North East, but football commentators seem to think we are, so who are we to argue? When I'm driving on the A19 I consider I leave the North East after passing Boro. On the train its when you pass Darlington. On the A1, **** knows. Most boring stretch of road in the world. I'm normally asleep.
we was a "north east town" when bombed in ww2 , i think we have had a fair bit of needle and rivalry recently with all three of our northern cousins , we are quite similar in many ways to 'boro - but yeah we may be 80 miles shy of being considered northern enough - shame really as we have no real rivalry that is returned . Nearest rivalry we do have is probably Sunderland and then Newcastle and Boro as 2008/9 rivals . After that its Scunny and Scarborough :/
Some good responses from the Mackems. Good luck to you too and hope you stay in the Premier League! Go for it!
Some of the Sunlun fans I talked to on the car park before the game thought they might get beaten because of the team changes they'd heard about. Must admit I recognised all of their players apart from the goalie, but couldn't convince the Mackems, that this is CITY they were talking about. We just don't beat teams three times in one season. We don't grasp opportunities like this when they come along. That our club motto is 'Typical City'. But it is now typical of the City that Bruce has built. Still hard to think its only a few years ago since we were scaping around the bottom of the whole football league.
Great support from the Makems today. But shame on the ones who left early. Big no no in my book. Despite the score. Was like the biggest where's Wally competition in the world today when I looked at the north stand. But well done on the noise you made.
Just as many City fans left early as Sunlan. I don't care if you want to get to your car, it's bloody disrespectful.
Totally agree. I was disgusted to see people leaving early today; I was there 20 minutes AFTER the game finished.
I was in the concourse, but I heard a massive cheer coming from the pitch. Of course it was the same in the concourse too. I think everyone wanted Sheff Utd.
I was pitchside and it was pretty dead out there by then. The cheers all came from the concourses. I kind of regretted missing that. Sounded like a right party in the concourse!
Maybe it was just behind me then. I went into the concourse after about 5 minutes and waited for the draw.
