Limp, passionless, lifeless, pathetic and we all knew that before we kicked off

Soooo embarrassed today, but I knew it, only the foolish, the young and those that have not seen us play football in the last season would have thought we could get anything out of this game.

Powell you are an idiot, no more excuses today, you played for a draw and got the spanking that your idiocy deserves, if you really care as much as you say you do, then you would Fack off, you incompetent clown.

Gives us something to hope for and leave.

He didn't play for the draw. We started with 2 up top.

If Powell thinks he can keep us up he won't walk away. He is, I believe, justified in thinking he can do it.

    Not excusing today's performance, though.

Truly awful, inept, passionless, powder puff, defensive, negative ****e. This is a mid table Div1 side and we were outplayed and outclassed. I have been a fan of Powell for a long time, but Chris my old mucker, it is time to walk away. I was embarrassed watching that today. How we are going to stay up I don't know.

He played not to lose, 442 does not work when 9 of them weren't up for it. We had no shots on target, the plan was not to lose and for 60 mins we didn't, there was no way we set up that game to win it. Pathetic cowardly and embarrassing and no matter how you want to spin on that idiots pecker, that was shat.

The manager and all the players were a ****ing disgrace today. Shameful performance.

Powell needs to go before Wednesday. No more excuses. No more looking at the past.

We need to move on with new leadership, or we are doomed.

Absolute bollox. You can't polish his turds anymore, this club is finished under him. And that club serial killer of a chairman. What a pair!

Why can't you accept your wrong, the matches are the great leveller, bottom of the league and out of the cup. What more evidence do you need?

How the hell will that set of players turn up at our place after they couldn't turn up for todays massive game?

TC, could be we'll play out of our skins for once and get a win at your place, then slump meekly into league one without another win. Footballs a funny old game, but judging by today, your defenders are in for a rough ride face with our attack.

Teams could play without a goalie and still keep a clean sheet against us

The team Powell started with were 0-0 with a fired up, in form home side. I admit i thought Reza and Astrid should have started, but when they came on we were 0-0. We lost 2-0 to the better side because yet again our lack of quality was made all the more obvious by a bottle job performance.

Powell gets the blame again despite this being predictable, we are where we should be with this squad. Getting to the Quarter Finals was exceptionally flattering for a side of our quality.

Powell deserved better, we deserved better. Shame some fans would rather point at Powell every single time we lose than just admit we are ****e. If he could drop them he would, but they are they better players in an extremely poor squad.

You know you have an awful team when you miss Bryan Hughes..........

Everyone is aware that our squad is not far off that of a mid table League One side right? Because judging from a lot of the Anti Powell stuff, it seems some fans genuinely believe we should somehow not be in this mess. Maybe that is why i am not a member of the Powell Out brigade, i said months before last season ended this would happen because frankly, it was obvious

Too many excuses, Jimmy. Powell needs to make way for some new ideas and fresh impetus.

No excuses, just facts. We are not good enough, and only ever get results when the lads decide to put a shift in to cover up their incompetence. Nobody in their right mind looks at our squad and thinks we look anything other than very poor. I am not defending Powell, i am defending common sense. Some of our fans really need to admit to themselves we have an incredibly poor and weak bunch of players to choose from.

I did not like the look of our starting 11, but i never do. We do not have a set of 11 players in any formation that looks like a comfortable Championship side. We would do exceptionally well to get to the play offs in League One with this lot. The League One winning side has not been strengthened at any point since promotion, but has instead been weakened at every opportunity. We should never have released so many players in the summer, we needed to add several players to the squad not get rid of bodies. Since then Stephens, Alnwick and Kermo have been shipped off as well, to be "replaced" by unproven players brought in as panic loans from Uncle Liege. Solly being injured for so long has also been a huge miss. It also looks like we only signed Polish Pete to put off his other suitors, and i would not be surprised if we never see him in a CAFC shirt and he is on the first flight to Belgium come the end of the season.

We can look at the last board for this mess, and the new board for not patching it up a bit in January. We deserve to go down if i am brutally honest. Powell has had no say in his signings, the departures of our best players, and it would be even worse if Poyet and Cousins had not adapted as well as they have.

It speaks volumes that 2 Academy players, who were only even in the squad to make up the numbers, have become such a vital part of our relegation fight. I saw all of this coming months before last season, as everyone else should have. Powell needs to learn and improve aspects of his management that is for certain, but that is expected of any manager this early into their career. How is he supposed to improve as a manager when he cannot actually manage? Too many fans jump on him at every opportunity, for absolutely no logical reason. Whilst i completely understand your frustrations at him not managing to get everyone fired up and picking up points, i ask you this.

Do you honestly, deep down, think he has had a fair crack as a Championship manager?

If you do, can you please explain how? Because he has been sat there, with a team he knows cannot cut it, with no backing to fix the blatantly obvious problems in our squad. We all know we have absolutely nobody who can play on the right of midfield that is actually good in that position (Wilson is reasonable, but lets be serious for a minute). Powell would probably of liked to have signed someone there, seeing as how he is constantly forced to move other players into that position. There is no manager in the world who would be happy having to play Simon Church up front from the start in this division, i would be shocked if there was a single manager who thought he would even be worth a place on the bench. But, that is all he has to work with, and that is through no fault of his own.

It does sadden me that it appears some fans would rather look at the manager than accept the more depressing reality. The reality that we really are utterly, utterly crap

Not happy. Left home at 6 this morning and expected a lot, lot better from both players and manager.

Pleased to hear our support, me included, start to turn on Powell and the players in the last ten mins as it dawned on us we had been royally shafted.

Tactics - in so far as there were any - were hopeless. Basically lump it forward over the heads of the midfield and hope for a knock down. Church a complete passenger and zero understanding with Tudgay. Not one combo all game. Cousins again wasted on the right.

    My ratings

    Hamer 5

Wiggins 0. Worst game in a Charlton shirt. Asleep all afternoon

Wilson 3. Better going forwards, struggled today

    Wood. 3. Struggled big time

Morrison 3 . Clumsy and his passing was awful

Jackson 3 . Game by passed him. League One players by passed him

Cousins 5 . Playing out of position

Poyet 5. Best player, not saying anything.

Harriott. 1. Needs to grow a pair of bollocks, no composure in front of goal, kept giving ball away

Church 0.5. Oh boy was he bad today

    Tudgay. 3. Very poor

Powell The Hopeless One Bufoon. Minus ten out of ten (can I go lower?)

He was ****, tactically clueless, just stood there like a tailors dummy. Why no Reza at the start, why Cousins on right again, why Green on again? He didn't come over at the end but my God was he getting stick from our end for that display. Embarrassing.

    Fuming.

Vol, is true that Powell did not clap the travelling fans? Because he was booed? but I saw him spend a lot of time congratulating the other team and making friends.

Maybe he was networking and just didn't have time?

I felt for all the Charlton fans who travelled up to Sheffield today. You were badly let down by the toothless players that masqueraded as Charlton players. I find watching Charlton embarrassing and an ugly experience.

Nope, I was hoping he would come over because I was at the front of the lower tier and seriously wanted to give him a send off. I guarantee that we will see that exact same performance next Saturday at Millwall. They are just an arseless bunch of chances led by a complete charlatan who , at any other serious football club, would have been sacked six months ago.

The good thing about today was to see our fans anger towards players and clown Powell.

RD should pull Powell to one side today, give him a cheque for his final three months wages, shake his hand and say goodbye. Sometimes the manner of how you lose tells you more than losing.
