Best thing about going to Wembley for me is having supported the club since 1965 I missed the play off final.

I weighed under 7stone and was in st Catherine's hospice thinking I would never see HULL CITY at Wembley ....or even another game.

TODAY WAS FERKING BRILLIANT FOR ME AND
    I AM GOING TO WEMBLEY

    AMAZING ...

    Wow really?

We wouldn't even be having this "discussion" if it were not for 100% due to Dr Allam, on account of having no club at all to talk about.

If it weren't for Dr Allam, we wouldn't have Steve Bruce, nor the team of players that some of you claim to support.

Anyone who thinks this run, or even winning the FA Cup will stick in Dr Allams throat, or annoy him are seriously deluded.

Winning the cup, seeing our old name etched on it, would make him immensely pleased and proud, right before he attempts to push the club forward onto better things despite the opposition from Luddites.

He promised us he'd turn the club around, he promised us PL football and he promised us European football. We're on the verge of that, and yet some still think its a good excuse to post utterly ****y threads like this.

If changing our name rids of us some of you so called fans, it'll be worth on that alone regardless of any financial benefits. Sadly, I think we all know, you're just a bunch of bullshitters and will still be claiming to support the team while whinging about stuff outside of your comprehension.

you don't believe a word of what you write do you ? - i'd be more interested in Allams opinion on the profile of a clubs name after winning a major historic trophy and the befefits of changing it after then - that would be an interesting interview

Stanners, gnome, cheeky fooker, dwarves are vile smelly creatures.

The cup is/would be a nice bit of exposure, and of course would be immense for the fans and the city, but its not going to turn our finances around. I don't understand why anyone would think differently to that.

But were we to win the Cup, I do believe that that fact would draw in finance, without this unnecessary name-change.

Very well said Mr Happy Tiger. My thoughts exactly. It boggles my mind that on a day we should be celebrating the fact that not only are we going to Wembley....for the second time in the past few years....but have reached the Semi-Final of the FA Cup for the first time since 1930....with a very good chance of making the Final...and winning the Cup against Arsenal or Wigan....AND making the impossible dream of EUROPE actually come true...THAT...

there are some on here who are still wingeing about the Allams...who have done more for this club than any individuals in our history...and about a name change. FFS get a sense of perspective!!! JESUS WEPT INDEED!!!

ah yes "the FA cup final win will bring in additional revenue" comment - as CWTD as so keen on repeating - where is the proof. the shirt sponsorship deal does not increase because of it - especially as one poster keeps saying the deal was done before the name change had even been mooted.

Also OLM commenting straight after a game about the name change, I accept he may not be a big wig in the campaign - but no one knows who anyone is on this board (I could be Mrs Allam, but i'm not), is also pretty stupid and lacks class

    Bullshit.

Our history is littered with owners who've 'saved us', some turned out to be numpties like Allam and some were unquestionably brilliant owners. Allam had no impact on today's result, just like all the other good ones we've had. His job is the off pitch stuff and he's failing enormously to the point that there's doubt over our right to participate in Europe should we qualify.

Your point seems to be that because Bruce and the team are doing well, we should just drop our opposition to the name change? The two have never been related and never will be.

Well I disagree on that. Despite being the current holders, and looking like a good chance of another FA Cup final to defend that, Wigan haven't to my knowledge been the recipients of a huge wedge of cash from outside the current owners, or have they?

Those attacking the Allams, do you genuinely think we'd have a club without Dr Allams intervention? Do you think if the club hadn't disappeared when he stepped in, it would be in the Premier League? Do you think we'd have a team and management anywhere near as good, or as successful as we have?

I'd done celebrating mediocrity, if you wanna do that, go watch the X Factor, or that Essex ****e. It's time we drew a line in the sand, and were able to compete with the best, on even terms. This has been the best period in our clubs history, certainly in the nearly 50 years I've been alive, and that is down to Dr Allam.

The "open letter" in the HDM said that they have no option but to put the club up for sale if they do not get the name change. Will they really put it up for sale 2/3 days before an FA cup semi final????

We accept that, but precisely what is the link to a pie-eyed notion of changing City's name?
