Maybe a club owned by someone with such a dodgy business and political history that the value of football players seems like a stable investment in comparison?
Erm how are you going to fool clubs into paying £30m for those 5? Borini - £8m? Aspas - £5m max. Suso - £5m? Kelly - £2m? Assaisi - £3m? And that was me being quite kind.
did you factor in they know we want to sell? kelly (injury prone) aspas (please!) assaidi, yes 6 mill fair enough (hopefully) borini, he has done well for sunderland, could get 6 mill, but be better back up option for that amount. suso don't know his value i asked other day but no answer, so don't know his value, hope its at least 6 mill or keep. dont see the 30 mill you think to be honest, more like 20 at a push, but 5 spaces to fill. i agree on players apart from suso, just think value is out. if we get cl football need a decent squad.
Kono looks a player and would provide cover across both wide options as well as being able to play in the middle behind the main striker if needed. If we can get him for £15m that would probably be decent business. If rumours of Gundagan being available are true we should go for it. Young player who controls the tempo of games and is box to box. £25m-£30mil would be a bit outlay but look what happens if you don't have a quality midfield like United and has the potential to replace Gerrard long term. Or if Toni Kroos wants out then similr money but reckon we'd have bit competition for him from other CL clubs. I don't really know of any full backs that spring to mind but say another £10m on one of those then if we do sell a couple of CB's try and find one for them. That would be 4 first team players who would immediately improve the 1st team with Borini, Susuo, Wisdom coming back to help strengthen the squad.
I certainly wouldn't sell Borini or Suso, not yet anyway. Kelly, Aspas and Assaidi if the right offer comes along. We should be looking to offload Reina, Johnson and one of Skrtel or Agger though. Decent money from those and alot of high earners from the wages.
just realized you havent included or given a value for reina. think we should keep personally if we got cl, but maybe he has had too much to say for himself for that to happen now sadly. but we need to get rid of brad, how much?, or should that be how much to pay off his contract lol.
Hardly wee details, I'd be surprised if we got £20m for all five players. Borini £6M (wouldn't sell personally) Aspas £3M Suso £2M (wouldn't sell) Kelly £3M Assaidi £3M. That's £17M in total, if you don't include the players that I wouldn't sell (and those two players the the two players that I fell Rodgers will most likely keep) then that only brings in £9M from those 3 player sales.
H's on too much money to be back up and BR obviously has put his faith in Mig long term. He's 100% going to be sold in summer and reckon we'll get about £6m-£10m for him. Don't mind Jones as a back up. When he played this year he actually looked alright. Had a very good game against Arsenal in FA Cup.
Some are massively undervaluing players, to the point of halving the sums we paid for them... Add Reina (which I forgot) and 30M is doable by all accounts.
Because when you buy Aspas for £7m and then he plays 10 games in the season scores 1 goal and looks pants, you aren't going to get £10m for him. His value will drop dramatically. Kelly - he's played about 20 games of football in the last 3 years. Why would he be valued at anymore than a couple of million? Borini - I want to keep him anyway, but we spent £11m for him and he's scored 7 goals in 2 years (admittedly a lot has been injured) but if we were to sell him, who is likely to pay the same money we paid for him? Carrol - £35m sold for £15m Downing - £20m sold for £6m Adam - £9m sold for £5m If players don't perform their value drops.
maybe, trouble is clubs know we want rid of a few players, what's the value on that selling wise. still think even with reina be lucky to get £25m, but places to fill (6-7?) that will help going forward, that's the value of one decent first team player.
Top left back and a solid box to box/all round central midfielder I say. Those are priorities. I'd also like Konoplyanka. If a RB and/or CB leave, sign some one for those positions. I wouldnt say no to Firmino but its not a priority position right now in my opinion.
Reina 10m realistically though I don't know how many years left on his contract. Assaidi 3m. Aspas 4m. Kelly 2m. Coates 2m. So roughly 20 give or take. A winger should NOT be a priority. We are good enough with attacking options for Europe.
Our only real winger who is 1st team quality of Sterling? If he were to get injured we'd have to completely change our formation or play Ibe who isn't ready or Coutinho out of position again. I don't think it's top priority but certainly an area we should be looking to improve.
