No doubt we will hear these comments from CP: 'one game too many for us', 'now we can focus on our league position', etc. Sick of it now.

we've been taught a lesson today. think people thought it was a given...

no effort from most of the midfield and front two. no runs being made, poyet was looking for the runs, but no one making any. cousins out of position again so cant be at fault

Thought Charlton was a given in the cup? Maybe a couple of the players, but the fans have seen this over and over again!
I even thought we'd probably lose, but even so, I'm gutted now. Judging by what I'm hearing, sounds a bit as if we packed a white flag for this one, as the general noise is that the Blades wanted it more. Did'nt our players fancy a trip to Wembley?

Yeah I agree Cousins looks absolutely lost, but I honestly don't know what to do with this squad to make it any better, none of the strikers look able to score, none of the midfielders look able to create. May as well try Cook, Hollands and Hughes and try and muster something.

Reza has a shot really well saved by the keeper.

    Full time 2-0

There's disappointment, and then there's that. Really poor performance, and we were killed off by 2 quick goals from a United side who deserved the win. Best of luck to them in the semi-finals.

We need to shake this hurt as quickly as possible in time for Huddersfield on Wednesday.

Look forward (well...not really) to hearing from those who were there.

Is there any other manager who could have done a worse job than CP today? No.

For that reason, he must walk.

I knew CP would get the blame <laugh>

You missed an open goal seconds before they scored - wasn't Powells fault your players didn't turn up - how can they not be motivated for the prize at stake?
Half of that team should be sacked, not Powell - what are they going to be like at our place next week?

I agree, it is the players fault, its always easy to blame the manager but at the end of the day its the players on the pitch who really need to pull their fingers out. The players are not good enough Powell cannot be to blame for only scoring 24 goals in 30 games.

    Utter bull****, TC.

We had one shot on target and that was in injury time.

The open goal was our best chance over ninety-four minutes.

If the manager has no control over motivation and whether or not the players are prepared for a match, then what is the point in having a manager?

Our brightest star of the season (Cousins) plays out of position again.

We bring on a half-fit midfielder to replace our fittest and hardest-working player.

If CP is not to blame for these things, then who is?

Surely an open goal will always be your best chance? Sadly missed Kermorgant today. Team isn't good enough. Powell isn't good enough with this team, although I done't think anyone would be. Lack of transfer activity is shocking. Roland has to answer for this defeat.

For me alarm bells were ringing when I saw that Ajdarevic had been dropped for Tudgay to be played out of position behind Church.

Up against in form lower league opposition it's a ludicrous decision to leave out your most creative payer...!!

Cousins looked absolutely lost out on the right and I don't reckon Tudgay has ever played off another centre forward in his whole career. He's used to having people playing off him for **** sake...!!

For this Powell must take the blame.

However, regardless of this there must be such a thing as a professional footballer taking pride in their performance. Our players were absolutely gutless and pathetic... no confidence, no pride no ****ing idea.

Fair play to Sheffield United they more than deserve their day out at Wembley.

It was our only real chance, that is what I'm saying. Sheffield United played well, but we should have mustered more of an attacking threat over ninety-four minutes.

And, in my opinion, the view that no other manager could do a job with this side is nonsense. We have a team good enough to beat Wednesday and Huddersfield on the road, and QPR and Brighton at home (and Powell should be praised for those results), yet we created one decent chance against a side from a lower league.

Therefore, Powell must shoulder the blame for today.

Well, I'm pretty pissed off this evening so frankly happy to blame them all for their part in a shocking performance.
