If it was just Chelsea, then I'd agree with you but it's City as well who have games in hand. I can't see us overtaking them as well as Chelsea for us to win the title, therefor top 4 or even top 3 for us this season would be a fantastic season given where we were last year.

In theory it's still probably in our hands. If we win all our games then we'll win the league (unless Chelsea & City also manage to win them all apart from the games v us in which case they'll be 1 point above us). We probably needed to get close to winning all our games to win the league ahead of both Chelsea & City anyway so from that point of view not much as changed.

My point is that top 4 is now down to us. We can keep it without having to rely on anyone else. We can't beat Chelsea or City unless they drop points to someone else. I think we should have the courage to look up, not down.

If we beat Spurs to 4th by 3 points (2, because their goal difference is laughable) at the end of the season, I'll admit I was wrong.:)

Their goal difference isn't just laughable, it's non- existant! How can they have spent so much money on attacking ' talent' last summer be so poor going forward. Their best player is the one who the previous manager didn't want. Their worst is the guy he spent 20+ million on to play instead of him. Shows how much they relied on Bale to dig them out of holes last season

That's a criminal stretch of the truth and the gobshite knows it. Someone has to have the balls in the Sunday papers to fill the back page with a you're fooling nobody headline surely.

Points in the bag are ALWAYS better than games in hand and especially seeing you've the full lot in the bag..... Frankly gd is his own negative fault and is a yearly trend for him.

Chavs all know the **** told the truth when he said he's no forwards.... Oops did 2 score v spurs and end thier cl ambitions?

7 points is to far away, considering we play United away next.

I see Erikson didn't even make the bench. I thought he was the playmaker. waste of money!

  11. Waste of talent. He's the one player they have that I'd like

To be fair, at the beginning of the season, most of us were a little apprehensive about the squad Spurs were assembling.
They haven't delivered anything near the results they should have in theory.
As I've always said, throwing money at a team is only ever part of the story, and it's the easiest part (provided you've got that money, obviously). The tricky bit is getting the right balance, and giving belief to the players.

Eriksen was injured - hence him not playing for Denmark against England.

  15. I thought they had put together a very good and I still do, but like Man Utd and England, they lack a manager that knows what to do with the talents available!

With Spuds, I always felt they had bought some great players and I even rate AVB too.

Their problem was that they brought far too many faces into the team at once. You simply can't buy that many players, put them into a new team with a new system/style and expect results. Madness. I know the money came in at once and they felt they had to replace Bale, but they simply did too much, too soon and they might well suffer because of it.

Even City for all their spending keep a fair amount of consistency in their squad.

Eriksen is like Nani, i said it on here a couple of years back when you all wanted him and i said it on the Spud board this summer, he is a one game in 15/20 player, for the rest of the time he is useless.

Sorry Gerrez, agree with this (I know you love the guy).

I've seen Eriksen step up and control a game very few times. He looks great with his little flicks and tricks, but they're so few and far between. I think he's hugely over hyped and there are far superior young, talented AMs out there. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's useless, but his impact isn't what you'd expect given his reputation.

  19. If you are saying this based on his performances prior to joining Spurs then fair enough. If its based on his time whilst at Spurs then it is very unfair since he's not really been given a proper chance. He wasn't being played enough under AVB and then when he was played he was pushed out wide. The style under Townsend is just not the right fit for him and again, he's pushed out wide when played. He did play centrally in the last Europa League game and he looked much better.

There is no doubt about it, he's been **** this season but I genuinely don't think he's been given the chance. I should also add that I wouldn't have liked to see us sign him for £20m+ but for the £7m he went for? Well, Eriksen or Alberto? Eriksen or Aspas? Either way, no brainer IMO

Is that Andros or Andy? <whistle>

I think Eriksen will be a good player and needs to be playe din that Coutinho role, just behind the mains striker. Whether he can step up in the Prem is one thing but for International and Ajax he was a star. He's still only young as well and only really had half a season here, far too early to write him off.
