Did anybody else notice the adverts on the big screen during the first half of the Newcastle game? It's an interesting marketing ploy, but I'm not sure the following two were meant to improve our business. Any idea how much they paid for these: Greene King Beer...Official Beer of Nottingham Forest. Get your Nottingham Forest home shirts from the shop now.
I noticed that too...totally forgot about it til you posted this. Shows the amateur way the club is run...advertising another club's kit for sale.
For about 30 minutes out of every 90 minutes the ball isn't in play. Plenty of time to notice the screens.
At CTWD we discussed in ground advertising, but assumed it wouldn't be accepted. Maybe it would have been.
I bet Allam would snap your wrists faster than your winkys would grow at the sight of Susan Boyle in the bath. He'd be rubbing his hands with glee at the thought of getting paid by your organisation.
I spat my phlegm-soaked Werther's Original into the noggin of the man in front of me when I saw that.
Apparently our big screens are run by the same company who run Nottingham Forests' and there was some "crossed wires" last weekend with the advertising. They got ours and we got Forests' ads.
To be fair not like it matters i doubt there was anyone going, hey you know what lets go get a Forest shirt..... If we get paid who cares if it advertises Forests shirts?
I think a lot of people. I know, let's also advertise other teams' shirts, such as Newcastle, Leeds, Manc Utd, Fulham, Southampton, etc. We could even advertise foreign teams! Barcelona, Bayern, PSG... What is wrong with some people?
The screen is run by a company in Sheffield. The same bloke who used to change the slides himself now sits on the phone to someone and tells them when to change the slide! (Edit) I believe; though I may be wrong that it's £100 per slide!
I also doubt anybody decided they wanted a Forest shirt, or that anybody got paid for an advert for any club's shirt. Might be better if we got some promotion of something we're selling in it's place though, something our fans might notice and go "I liked them but they looked a bit pricey, I'll go get one now they're on offer", that kind of thing.
