The idiot tries to balance the record by penalising Spurs against Chelski. Obviously realising that the ridiculous penalty he awarded Spurs against us gave them unwarranted points he's just done the same to them to help Chelski take them back. What a shame we've already played Chelsea twice this season otherwise if he was to referee that game he could have given us an unwarranted penalty to make it a round robin.
He's the new Stuart Attwell. An appalling referee who is inexplicably allowed to ply his trade at the highest level.
From Oliver's position it looks a stone waller to me and the rules (however **** they are) are rules. Red card and a penalty, I think he's got it right. It's very soft, but it's the right decision.
From the camera angle (directly behind) it looked soft in real time. From Oliver's position you could see the daylight between them. I turned it straight over at that point too.
He gets pushed to be fair. Not enough to knock a 5 year old girl over but there is contact. Eto'o has used his brain to win his side a penalty. It's not a dive, some might still call it cheating but he's been pushed and he's gone over. It's easy to say Oliver got it wrong but from his position i'd have given the same (maybe not the red card).
Geoff Shreeves "Tim, how much did you contribute to your own downfall today?" Tim "Erm, dunno, what do you mean?" Brilliant reaction, did he not watch the game? He then went on to slate his team.
Spurs were the better team in the first half, Figgy style cock-up for the first goal, which Eto'o finished briliantly. I think he blotted his copybook buying the second and Kaboul should never have been sent off. What happened after that was largely irrrelevant, as the game was already lost. It was a good game until the sending off, I accept that from the ref's position it might have looked like a sending off, but it was ridiculously harsh and it ruined the game. I think Oliver isn't up to the job.
And to think all the pundits have been singing Oliver's praises this season, going as far as saying he's now the best referee in the country They clearly didn't watch the Boxing Day game, but actually they did. Robbie Savage claimed Oliver was excellent that day.
Right decision my arse. Tellytubby should have been sent off for diving. Why strikers would sooner fall to their knee's as though they have been poleaxed when they have a chance to shoot at goal is beyond me. Its ruining the game. There is a reason Chelski are 75 games unbeaten at home and it isn't because they are a fabulous team. They have taken Man Utd's mantle and manipulate every decision. The soft free kicks and penalties they get at home is unbelievable.
It's a nightmare for refs. They don't have the benefit of replays. Some of you lot ought to offer your services to the local refereeing panel and see how hard it is to make those decisions on the spot.
As far as I recall, he didn't give any penalty whatsoever in that game. He did however let United off with incessant theatrics, allowed Rooney to ref the game for him, which in itself led to United getting away with murder including waving away an absolutely blatant handball in the box by Rooney that could have been seen with the naked eye from the moon.
No chance. I know you like to wind us up at any chance you get, Andy. So don't be surprised if I don't respond.
