Sholing FC V Wisbech Town - FA Vase Quarter Final
    Saturday 8th March 3pm
    Silverlake Arena - Portsmouth Road - Southampton SO19 9PW

Massive match this Saturday for the "Boatmen" as we take on Cambridgeshire team, Wisbech Town for a place in the Semi Finals of the FA Vase (the final is at Wembley).

With Saints away at Palace, we hope Saints fans can pop along after that match and support us. With this in mind, the club is making a special offer to all Saints season ticket holders, admission for just £3 ! Just show your season ticket at the turnstiles.

    Normal Admission Fees are:
    Adults £5
    Senior Citizens £3
    Juniors (12-16) £2
Under 12 (when accompanied by an adult) FREE
    Car Parking FREE

If the game is level after 90minutes, there will be 30mins of extra time.

Wisbech are bringing around 150 fans, so we are hoping for over 500 locals to get behind Sholing.

Bar & refreshments in the ground. Covered seating for 100. Concrete hardstanding surrounds the pitch.

Ground is on Portsmouth Road between Sholing and Old Netley. If parking is limited on site, there is a cark park at Veals cash & carry just 200yards down the road.

Hope to see you there, your support is very much appreciated. Thanks.

I won't be able to go but the best of luck, it would be good to see a Southampton side at Wembley again.

West Auckland won the World Cup in 1909 and successfully defended it in 1911. It was called the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy then but was effectively the premier international club trophy.

Wasn't pretty, but as in all forms of Cup football, the result is all that matters!!

Semi Final is over two legs, so we will have the chance for a big crowd at the Silverlake Arena. Just under 500 fans there today, we hope to double that.

Will find out on Monday at 10:30am who we will face in the Semi.

Come on U Boatmen! <applause>......It would be great to go to Wembley this season after the Saints debacle at Sunderland....Are St Andrews from Scotland?, I'm guessing a draw against Eastbourne would be the best tie, logistically.

I wanted to go to the Sholing match on Tuesday but have made either plans. The game will be against my team, Winchester City and we will be looking for revenge after losing the other, exciting encounters earlier in the season.

There are rumours about Sholing's ability to be promoted this season and the league is in a bit of a dither as it is not clear who will be eligible for promotion when the league concludes next month. Winchester have been one of the better teams in the league this year but have managed to lose some games that they should have won. Losing at home to Romsey was a massive shock. Sholing have been one of the better teams this season although I though that new Alresford looked good. Quite enjoying watching the Wessex league as it throws up so many derbies. Winchester eventually managed to crack Verwood this afternoon even though the 2nd half performance merited a better score than 1-0. Andy Roberts was superb.
