Bullard is the most talented player in the league. Does that mean he is the most effective? Far from it. In any 90 minutes he can be a special player, doesn't really make a difference though, because in-fact over a period of a season he is so ineffective that I wouldn't even take him for half his current wages.
although doubltless a talented midfield it'd need someone of the Ashbee style to put the boot in, lets face it although he is the most talented player in the Championship Bullard is a bit of a 'fanny dangler' ....understandably so but nevertheless not one to put a tackle in
I have to agree Bullard, and Oli could still do a job for us if we dont get any of our transfer targets. As could Ghillas. ? Rosenior, Chester, ?, Dudgeon Stewart, Oli, Koren Bullard Fryatt, Simpson
I have made this point before, but as the JB saga seems to re-appear on here every other day, I'll stick in my two penneth again. Everyone seems to think that if JB was just stuck back in our midfield, he would start playing brilliantly. However, remember he did play in our midfield last season and was dropped because he was playing ****e. He doesn't want to play for us, he puts no effort in and he is a bad influence in the dressing room. If he was fully commited/fit I agree that he is one of the best players in this division, but he is neither.
Am i the only one who remembers how Jimmy did for us in the PL? He did not give two monkeys at the end of our relagation season, he didn't care less if we went down. Even when he played in the Championship for us did he create anything? No. Did he do anything that stood out? No. I don't disagree there is talent in there but it has not worked, now lets cut our loses and shut the **** up about him. Oli on the other hand is different, he did okay in patches and was farmed out due to finances which neither AP nor NP had a chance over. He is not a defensive midfielder, never was and never will be so anyone saying him and Jimmy will work together, how? Neither of them are really tough tacklers, captain material or even leadership material that we need in there. Also is Oli that good? Cardiff where hardly biting our hand off to take him, and i know plenty of Cardiff fans who felt he was to hot and cold. If a bid came in i would be happy so say bye.
I wouldn't put myself in the pro-jimmy camp. Personally I'd rather he moved on, and the vast amounts spent on his wages could then be used to sign players more appropriate for our current situation. BUT, I can't agree with half the stuff you've posted there. What events in particular made you say he didn't give a damn? The high wages? We offered them? The penalty miss vs. Sunderland? He'd already scored four that season, having only scored six in his whole period at Fulham. What was he expected to do? Go into the centre circle and weep like a coal miner's widow? And did he create anything in the championship? He did score two in nine appearances - including the last-second winner at Sheffield United. He is on more than we can afford, and is sadly on a contract which gives him more the more he plays. I don't doubt he also likes a good night out. But I don't see the advantage of demonising him.
A lot of people have criticised this as just another Bullard / Olofinjana thread, but the aim was to see if everyone could forget the anger towards Bullard for long enough to decide whether he and Olofinjana could be assets for us next season. Both look like they will still be with us so it makes sense that differences between the players and the club are ironed out. Personally I wouldn’t be bothered if Adolf Hitler played centre midfield for us if it got us winning games and scoring goals again. It’s not about petty emotional sh**e, it’s about maximising all of your assets and putting the best possible team out.
I always see Hitler as more of a manager type than a player, can see him being a right dirty bugger if he played in centre-midfield, don't think he'd get on with Robert Koren much either (may be wrong but think Koren is a Jewish name)
What about an 11 of Saddam Hussain Reggie Kray, Colonel Gadaffi, Ronnie Kray, Osama Bin Laden Adolf Hitler, Chapo Guzman, Che Guevara, Terry Adams Heinrich Himmer, Pablo Escobar
Hitler is meant to be pretty strong on the right wing. Wouldn't play Bin Laden at left back, he goes missing too often, and is always in the wrong place when the opposition takes a shot. Ronnie Kray is a good call for CB. He'll never let a man get past him.
Move Gaddaffi out to the right, and put Ronnie and Reggie into CB (nothing would get past that pairing!!) For Bin Linner I would prefer Adolf Eichmann (he will always get you that extra (gas) meter, and is deffo a team player! If not Gaddaffi, then Gerry Adams (he will always "get yer man") What about the bench? Castro, as back up, all-round defensive cover, Beria as Def/Mid (once on your trail you will not shake him off), Stalin as out-and-out attacker,Mad Frankie Frazer as a winger (bit of a hard-man in the tackles), Imelda Marcos as keeper cover! Manager, Genghis Khan. (for his talent as a good attacking general!) Ass. Manager, Tacitus. (tactical genius) Att. Coach, Rommell. (deffo good in the use of Tigers!) Def. Coach, Churchill. (fight them on the beaches) Mid. Coach, Haig. (forget the injuries, just keep attacking their line!) Goalk. Coach, Ronaldo. (for his diving skills)
Surely Thatcher n Tebbitt should be centre midfield enforcers? Stamped all over a full country for years.
Don't be silly she's the kit woman, responsible mainly for ensuring all the boots are with the right kits.
