No that's just in the article, I have no idea. I don't think it's a great source at all.

Don't like the slight lack of ambition displayed here:

"Almeria have given me the chance to play in the first division and I would not mind at all continuing here one more season".

He should especially want to be at LFC next year.

That very same argument could be flipped right round for Sturidge!!

He left 2 CL teams (because he couldn't get in the first team) and look at him now.

Wanting first team football does not indicate a lack of ambition. Suso is having a VERY GOOD season in Spain, winning plaudits and cementing his place in the age-group national teams. I can fully understand why he doesn't want to come back to sit on the bench or play in the Capital One cup.

I dont think Suso leaving would bother me that much, though I'd love to have him back.

I'm not sure he has got the strength to play midfield in the PL. Though on the wing he could do it.

But with Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling all doing well in our front three, Borini doing well at Sunderland and Konoplyanka quite likely to see he could end up quite far down the pecking order.

Pretty much agree with this. Suso's a top talent and very similar to Coutinho in the role he plays in the team. Coutinho we've seen look tired at times this year, so with extra games next season (hopefully in the CL), Suso would be perfect to rotate and challenge. They're both young, let them push eachother on.

Suso will stay if he gets assurances he won't be rotting away in the reserves with the odd bench appearance. He deserves to be in the first team squad and is good enough.

Be a shame if he did go, thought next year he'd get a real good chance to be a 1st team player if he got his head down like Sterling & Flanagan have done this season.

No doubt he is better suited to Spain and if he's being guaranteed first team football then you can't blame him. Hopefully we can get up toward £5m for him otherwise I'd be a bit annoyed.

Sturridge didn't prefer the bench as many don't - no problem with that - and he never signed down (Liverpool is never signing down).

Problem is with players not being up to fight for a place in a top team, and therefore signing off their own transfer to a middling club. If I were a player at a top team, I'd make sure that I gave it 100% before my manager came to me and told me that "you'll be a bench option after X and Z players" or "we'd like to sell you to x middling club".

  9. Couldn't agree more Andy. People moan about players only being interested in money, usually stemming from a player choosing to sit on the bench in in the reserve rather than first team football elsewhere. We should appreciate the ones that want to play no matter if they have to drop a level. Its why I appreciate and respect what Tom Ince has done too.

Ince would have been "a bench option behind X, W, Z players", unlike Suso who's ahead development-wise of all players of his position but Coutinho.

  11. I never said Ince would be good for us, I don't think he would and I don't him back.

I was responding to the questioning of his ambition.

Sevilla are hardly a middling club. It's very likely, they will be in the Europa League next season. Your entire argument is very liverpool centric. That's fair enough, i'd expect no less of a fan.

It still doesn't alter the fact that regular La-liga and Europa league football is far better than anyones bench and the League cup.

Also Sturidge may not of traded down in your opinion but the fact is that he left the then current European champions for a club that hadn't been in the CL for 3 years and wern't in a position to qualify for it in that season. To a neutral that was a move down to get first team football. My point is valid.

Thankfully for him and Pool, barring a disaster of epic proportions he'll be playing in the CL next year :smile:

By what I said I meant that Ince's wantaway wish was justified, whereas if Suso were to push a transfer ...not so justified IMO.

If we were to ask Studge 'Did you try your best at Chelsea?' 'Did you exhaust your patience with the club' I'm sure he'd affirm and back his answer with emphasis and good points. One of them being Chelsea not playing him upfront etc. Suso on the other hand should try harder, further. Coutinho's place certainly isn't cast in cement.

If as you say he is more lured by playing first team in his sunny home country than from the bench in cold Liverpool in EPL and CL, then good for him, a subjective decision I disagree with though.

  15. How so? Its very similar as far as I can see. Neither at first team regular stage, both had players ahead of them and both want/wanted to play. Sure, Suso as had more first team action than Ince saw but then, he's been shipped out on loan too. Add to it that Suso is back in his home land and perhaps prefers it on a personal level and it becomes even more understandable to me.

Suso will come back for pre season training, and then its up to him to show brendan he should keep hold of him.

if he doesn't impress (ie not much better than tex, alberto or whoever else) well its either another loan or sold.

what's his value of he went?

Bloody spanish media speculation just trying to unsettle the lad. He has stated all season (and for years) he wants to make it at Liverpool.

We would have to be mental to let Suso go. He is technically excellent. Has a range of skills that allows him to play wide forward, (both sides) Wide midfielder or as a creative midfielder. (You dont sell players with is vsiion and passing range.)

I have kept a close eye on Suso this year at Almeria and he has had some fantastic performances on the pitch, (even though he has had some bad behaviour off of it.) To suggest he is Pacheco mark 2 or close to Lindfield or Nemeth is ridiculous. Pacheco, Nemeth and Lindfield never got anywhere. Suso has already had a successful league season in La Liga and has recieved plaudits and admirers from a host on big clubs.

he is a ready made replacement for Coutinho and can offer coverage to other positions aswell.

He does need to work on his tackling, (two many yellows) - But at least he tracks back.
He needs to put a few more away
He needs to continue to pick his passes better, (just to up the completion percentage.)
and he needs to ensure he gets out of bed every morning.

These are all workable things though that will leave us with an excellent young player.

There is no point in selling him now for 5 million or so when in a couple of years i belive he will be worth at least 15-20M

that bit is funny. Not done that more than twice I hope?

Suso is a skillful little player. I'm afraid he is not nearly as direct and aggressive as our style requires though. We are a direct pacy team. We pick a quick pass while under pressure, and we power-run, forward. Coutinho and Alberto are much more direct imo than Suso. But I agree that Suso could become valuable (15M?) for sides that play slower possession football.

  20. What about if we have a lead to protect and need to hang on to the ball? Or we are playing against a so-called lesser team that park the bus?

The modern game is all about the squad and having options. Suso offers something different.
