MAN City fans have written letters of praise to Sunderland fans after their phenomenal support at Wembley. Players and fans did the city proud at the Capital One Cup final, with amazing passion both on the pitch and in the stands. Now Man City fans have taken the time to thank Black Cats supporters for their passionate support and pride in defeat. Their messages sent to the Sunderland Echo letters page. Adam Kowalczuk, who was at Wembley to cheer on the Blues, said: âTo come out of the ground after the celebrations and to be applauded by your fans was absolutely fantastic. âThis wasnât just one group of your fans. It happened on four separate occasions. âIt shows the true measure of the people who support your club and I have nothing but sheer admiration for them now. He added: âFrom now on, you will have an additional fan looking out for your results. âI wish you all the best for the rest of the season. With the fans you have, you deserve your status in the Premier League.â ASusan Lowe was also in the Manchester City end at Wembley. She said: âWhat wonderful supporters the Sunderland fans are. âOn the way out of the stadium, the city fans were applauded by hundreds of Sunderland supporters. âI was with an 81-year-old lady and I cannot tell you how many times we were both hugged or congratulated by Sunderland supporters â young and old. âIt is refreshing to know that not all football supporters are thugs, and I am not sure City fans would have been so gracious if we had lost.â âI would like to let your wonderful supporters know how much it meant to us and tell everybody at the club what great supporters you have.â
29 years ago the Norwich fans said the same thing & credit to them, they've never forgot it. I was there that day & will never forget it. It was a wonderful occasion & both sets of fans were superb. Although we will have a few bell ends attached to us as every club does, I think we have a good reputation wherever we go. Never had a problem with Man City, great club with great fans. All the best to them.
I was there as well Billy and like you say it was fantastic, even a massive football game between the fans!!
I remember that, when our coach pulled down Wembley Way we heard the noise & at first thought there was bother until we saw a hundred a side game going on. Leeds friendly!!!!!! Actually, it does. .

I went to Wembley and thought they weren't a patch on us - that's not necessarily saying they're poor - just nowhere near the Sunderland fans. We sang for 90 minutes regardless of score - they sang from the time the second goal went in. Their fans turned up like we normally do for a home game (5 minutes before kick off!) yet our fans turned up and soaked in the atmosphere. I don't mind the City fans TBH, but, on the day, our fans were miles ahead of them
100% agree with that pal. I got to wembley about 11ish & the place was buzzing then. went to this ****hole called Crystal next to wembley & it was class. £3 for a can tho.
