I read a pretty well thought out article in the summer about how Mkitaryan would fit in the Liverpool team and how they thought the best place for him, both in terms of LFC and English football was in the front three. In their example team he was LF.
so then its either or on mkhitaryan and konoplyanka.... or someone else entirely. i still thing both men just want big wages
There was an interview with him only last month and he was saying he wanted to extend his contract at Liverpool but he thought he needed another loan spell. âIâve got one season at Liverpool and I think it would be a good choice if I renewed and continued for another year at Almeria,â he said. âBut not everything that happens is up to me.â http://www.football-espana.net/40063/suso-happy-almeria I can only find the interview on this dodgy site but the quotes are legit.
Liverpool are growing increasingly interested in Spanish midfielder Dani Parejo after sending their chief scout to keep an eye on the Valencia man last month. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has limited central-midfield options, with four senior players effectively jostling for three places, although Philippe Coutinho has also been used in the middle of the park in recent weeks. Rodgers is a fan of Parejo and sent his head scout, Barry Hunter, to monitor the 24-year-old during Valencia's 2-1 win over Granada on February 23. Parejo, who has two league goals to his name this season, came through the ranks at Real Madrid and spent time on loan at QPR before moving to Getafe in 2009. After two years at Getafe he earned himself a transfer to Valencia, where he has shone since 2011. Parejo is under contract for another two years and Valencia insist they will do everything within their power to keep hold of the midfielder, who they view as the heartbeat of their side for years to come.
Liverpool will not take up a £3.3m option to sign 26-year-old French defender Aly Cissokho when his loan from Spanish club Valencia expires at the end of the season. #Stopthepresses
He wasn't awful in the last few appearances, even half decent. But not worth it, I'd rather look elsewhere for a LB. Apparently we're in for Micah Richards for RB. I think it could be a good move though injury prone defenders are the last thing we need. He'll have some experience in the passing game at City but I think maybe we should keep looking abroad.
Cissokho is currently our best defensive full back. Which says more about the squad than it does him. No thank you to Micah - good player but we already have enough injury prone defenders in defence.
To be fair to Cissokho from a pure defensive point of view he hasn't been that bad. He's got close, put in some good tackles and stopped crosses when he's been there. Admittedly his position is pretty pants and is often caught upfield for no reason. The real thing that's let him down is when he has the ball. He's slower than Enrique when making decisions and doesn't seem to be able to pass the ball 5 yards.
Agree, but if you're talking purely defensive then he's probably above Johnson who has been even worse. But Johnson is far better when in possession and only a bit worse defensively which gives him the advantage.
Flano is our best defensive option. Johnson is the best offensive. Enrique is the best overall. Cissokho is Cissokho
Presuming we get 4th, how much does everyone see us spending? (net or gross?) I don't see it being ridiculous, maybe 60mil spend and 20mil from sales? Or do we think both these numbers are too low? Also, i can definitely see Man U crossing the 100mil mark. Thoughts?
