Has Pardew ever had a warning by the FA about future conduct before? I guess if he has then they will come down harder on him. It's been that high profile a case, though, that they may feel they need to send out a message and that's where it may get a bit ridiculous.

Pardew has requested a personal hearing but I'm not sure that will help as I suspect the powers that be have already made their minds up about guilt levels and whether they are going to make an example of him.

Of the Pelegrini incident, an FA spokesman said: ‘We have been in contact with Alan Pardew and reminded him of his responsibilities.’ Is that a warning? Sort of, I guess, although it doesn't sound very formal. I'm even less clear how the hammer will fall now.

Whatever punishment is meted out, I don't think it'll affect the club, the team or where we finish this season so to be honest I'm not all that bothered. I'll bet Alan is ****ting it though after already copping a £100k fine and more on the way. He might be earning a decent amount in his job but that will hurt big time I reckon.

According to BBC News (I can't remember the incident) he was banned for 2 games for pushing an assistant referee - think his punishment will be fairly severe and costly financially to him!

Not sure if that wasn't just to protect himself from the 3rd official bumping into him.

Thing is, that was barely a push and this one, although it's being accepted by all as a 'headbutt', wasn't a headbutt. If he's going to do it and cop the punishment, he might as well do it properly.

Like I say, I don't remember the incident but at end of day he has committed both offences - he's a prat in my opinion and doesn't matter if his 'headbutt' was ****e and soft, he meant it. Wish we could have just sacked him and spend rest of season searching for the right candidate and give Pedro the interim job. (Personally not a fan of Carver)

There's also a question I've had since the start and I've not seen it discussed, but did Pardew actually make contact with Meyler at all? From the pictures I'd say it didn't look like he did but the reaction has been as if Pardew's split his head open.

Have to say it's mildly amusing and slightly bizarre the way many Newcastle fans have actually been talking up the incident and Pardew's punishment. Obviously coming from the Pardew haters. There was a guy on the Total Sport on BBC tonight trying to argue the case for why Pardew should have been arrested and what laws he's broken. A Newcastle fan. He was talking bollox of course.

From the video and photo footage I think you can be pretty certain there was contact but everyone who says "if he did that in the street he would be arrested" or "if he did that in a normal workplace he would be sacked" seems to be ignoring that Meyler shoved him out the way first. Pardew squared up to a guy who pushed him, its not the correct thing to do but we want passion and Pardew has stepped over the line in response to some minor antagonism. He wont learn and he wont change, irrespective of the punishment or the promises he makes.

I honestly think you could be standing in front of a policeman (or woman) in the street and do what Pardew did to someone and they'd tell you off and stop being a twat and tell you to go home. There was nothing in it and I've seen far worse aggro go on on a Fri/Sat night in front of Police and people not get charged.

Amazing here we have the MANAGER of a premiere league team in front of tens of thousands of fans and millions of TV viewers, he has a history of confrontation with officials, he attempts to headbutt one of the opposing team, and supporters are suggesting he be treated the same as Joe coming out of the pub on a weekend after a drink

Of course I'm not saying he should be treating like "Joe coming out of the pub on a weekend" fredor. Please use your eyes, and heaven forfend your brain, and find someone saying that's how he should be treated. We haven't suggested that so don't make yourself seem more foolish by trotting out boring fallacies.

My point was that people have been saying that if it was a normal person he would be getting a heavier punishment and that is simply bollocks. £100k fine for starters and surely a lot more to follow, due to his position that's fair enough and take the time to read the actual things people are actually saying and you will see that Newcastle fans agree with that.

    Alternatively just talk more ****.
