Yeah Miesha would definitely get it, though I do have a little thing for Ronda if I'm honest. She can stick me in one of her arm bars any day
To be honest, looking at the picture that Boss posted of Miesha, her nose was the last thing I noticed.
She has a nose?????? Very difficult to get drawn away from the butt & heels tbh. My wife (although she hates it), understands why I watch/enjoy the UFC........although she doesn't get why anyone would watch the women fight....!!!! Luckily, she's normally asleep when it's on, so I get to watch them in a quiet and darkened room......grappling....mmmmnnnn!
Top fighters dodge each other more than they used to. I enjoy watching Mayweather's ring generalship and skill, but like many top fighters he plays the cost/benefit game to such an extent he never faces anyone who has a chance to beat him and hasn't since he was very young. The action remains fantastic at the lowest weight classes, but most fans aren't interested for some reason. Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez (JMM's little brother) fought an absolutely fantastic trilogy. It effectively ended both their careers, though. It's understandable why boxers play it safe. But other than the lowest classes, the number of really interesting big fights keeps dwindling.
Mayweather will be remembered as the boxer who dodged his biggest challenger, all boxers need a rivalry or a defining fight against a great opponent. The excuses made re about blood samples and ensuring the fight wouldn't go ahead means IMO its difficult to respect a fighter who hides behind the aspect of boxing which allows boxers to dodge opponents. We should be talking about Mayweather v Pacquiao the trilogy. Instead we have Khan mouthing off via twitter and Mayweather is preparing for another easy fight.
I enjoy watching most sports and played football, basketball and hurling when in school many moons ago. Had to quit hurling when I had 3 fingers smashed when jumping to catch a sliotar (ball) as a goal keeper and 3 other lads were going for the same ball with their hurls and got my hand instead. Fantastic sport to watch and considered the fastest field sport in the world, still an amateur game requiring great skill and big cahonies. Nice vid shows the basics in layman's terms. It's all about money now. Also too many boxing " authorities" there used to be only one, and defence against the No.1 challenger was mandatory. Ali even had his " bum a month" period, where he fought any and all comers. Nowadays, it seems that with a good agent/management team that you can avoid any serious challengers for ages!.
Exactly! Mayweather will rip Khan's head off - assuming the fight ever takes place....but, it's all about making as much money as possible!...
Mayweather's a far, far better boxer than Khan, but he's dodged him anyway to fight someone that Khan's already beaten. He doesn't want to lose his unbeaten record and I think that Khan's right about him being worried by his hand speed. Khan's defensive work is very poor, but it's possible that he could land punches on the far more experienced man and a loss to him would be massively embarrassing.
Cool. It always looked like agreeable chaos to me, like someone decided to play baseball, lacrosse, hockey and gridiron all at once (surely a good idea, as long as you aren't too attached to your bones)! I'll have to watch a game some time. Plus I always thought it was great Ireland has 32 counties so the Irish championship is a natural five round single elimination tournament.
In a perfect world mate, but we Irish like to do things arseways. I still find it hard to get my head round the current format with 36 'Counties' , including 2 from the UK and 2 new regional teams. And similarly to the champions league, a team can lose an earlier match and still go on to win via the back door. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-Ireland_Senior_Hurling_Championship
Sports I enjoy include Cricket, Rugby, Boxing, in my younger days I was a left winger, and a long distance runner. Nowadays the only sport I am active in is Golf, playing it rather than watching it, and hill walking.
Mainly cricket (I played club cricket for over 50 years, including tours to Ireland (true!), Spain (honest!) Australia and New Zealand! Also played in Cyprus!!). Still completely hooked on all forms of the game, even though my knees and back remind me daily just how many overs I bowled in those years. Just watch it live or on tv now. Usually go to the first day of the Lord's Test. I enjoy international rugby union (years of it at school); one or two golf torunaments; major tennis tournaments; athletics. All on tv. And even some obscure ones like handball (which I discovered while living in Germany), occasionally. Most of the sports identified by others leave me completely cold - especially wrestling and F1, I'm afraid - sorry! But thank goodness there is such diversity, eh?!
Forgot to mention that while on cricket tour in Dublin (Croke Park?), over 50 years ago, I went to watch the semi-final of the hurling equivalent of the FA Cup - I thought it was a totally brilliant game! Such physical bravery, and such skills of hand-eye co-ordination, combined with such quick feet! Best player was a red-headed guy who had his head cracked open early on, but played the rest of the match with a massive bandage round his ginger nut! Terry Butcher - eat your heart out! Never forgotten it! I'd love to watch it again some time!
