Not really, Bolton are in a worse position, they have no chance of going up and have one year less of parachute payments. Plus loads of our big earners are off the books in the summer.
I'd say it's probably paye/national insurance/vat.....certainly not corporation tax!!!!!!! It's a bit like the old gag...How do you become a millionaire by owning a football club?.....Start out as a billionaire....... As Norway mentioned above this years figures shouldn't worsen the position too much as alot of the high earners have gone, the only problem is that they were loaned out instead off being sold so there will still be some hangover on wages....but as has been seen with Liverpool earlier this week all clubs seem to be making losses or varying degrees and those that say they are not are the one's who are struggling to stay in the top flight......A vicious circle that will just keep going round and round.....
It is gut wrenching to think how poor the football has been last year and this years with the number of players signed and the wages they have been receiving. I now understand how many of them have let the club and fans down, not that they care. It really is putting me off football.
Transfer embargo with 16 players leaving? You're in a much worse position than Bolton, believe me. Whats the use of Parachute Payments if you can't spend them? If you don't go up then you're letting go a lot of high earners of which you can't replace, even if you wanted to. It's the same with Leicester. We've got 7 out of contract (all near enough first teamers) so if we don't go up then we could be in the same position (although we'd be left with players who are on normal championship wages. Time for Redknapp to prove his worth. Also, if you don't go up then I imagine you'd be even more in the **** with high value transfers and loans coming in this season with the likes of Austin, BAE and Morrison.
Two of which are loans due back to their parent teams at the end of the season. If you are going to spend so long on here gloating at least get some facts straight.
Just had a quick look around some of the other boards and for some reason we're not particually liked.....the favoured comment invloved "crash and burn" or words to that effect......
The more I (reluctantly) think about this, the more I feel what a staggeringly poor return on investment we (Tony and the fans) have had in terms of results and entertainment. I hope all current and past players and management teams from the last couple of years read these financial results and reflect that its ALL THEIR FAULT. Upwards of £5m has now been lavished on Redknapp alone ffs. He'll give one of his patronising "the owners are lovey people, but they don't really understand how difficult it is" spiels soon I'm sure. Hopefully they will soon realise they have been ripped off by H and his ilk, and sue Harold for misrepresenting himself as a competent football coach.
If you are going to lift other posters points (Flyer's Dortmund comparison) and post them on your own board at least have the decency to credit where they came from. I don't understand the point you were making - the loans are gone at the end of the season.....
Unfortuantely Stan that would involve them looking into their conscience and I doubt they possess one..... It still beggars belief that with the talent at his disposal Harold has made a right dogs dinner of getting promotion this season.....
It was posted on FoxesTalk mate. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/93305-qpr-in-the-****e-house/ 4th post, posted at 12.38, Flyer didn't post until 4.02. The point is that neither are on small wages and probably comanded loan fees. For example, we loaned Yakubu for 6 months and paid Everton a million quid for him + wages.
Yep but probably off-set by loaning out Remy and He who can't be named to Fulham and now Milan....apparently we got 2 million from Newcastle for Remy plus his wages off the books......
Ironically a transfer embargo would just increase the debt, wed have no choice but to re sign those higher earners who otherwise would be dumped without a second thought. Here's to another 3 years of zamora, Johnson and O'Neill!
Fair enough Andy. Our accounts for this year aren't going to be pretty either. Outgoings down, but income massively down. Our owners have made a series of calculated bets, none of which have come off......yet.
Hence my view that TF might just pull the plug before too long, I doubt if he's got anywhere near the sums we've lost to date, so where are the guarantees?...
Guarantees to who? We owe him and the other shareholders, they must be paying most of the wage bill every month. Don't worry about his pockets though, worth $650m according to Forbes, up more than 25% in a year. When you have that much cash it tends to grow by itself, unless you do something stupid, like buy a football club and see it relegated from the most ludicrously cash rich league in the universe. If he's going to go he'd be better off going soon, he know's he'll never get his cash back, or even a fraction of it. But I have a feeling he's been bitten, has that stupid devotion to QPR that we have.....
