yet again the elitists at the bbc have decided that they dont need to provide services for the hoy poloy. it started with the scrapin of the 606 forums and has now moved on to scrapping of bbc 3 which has the best comedy on the bbc on it. but also why as football fans are we subjected to having to use mw to keep up with football on the wireless. it seams that for what is two afternoons at the weekend bbc radio 3 could be used wouldnt it be nice to have the 606 on fm on a sat afternoon . i thought it was our bbc

It's ridiculous, BBC Three has most of the beeb's funniest shows.

How can he justify scrapping that and keeping BBC Four?

Not only that, but they put down the england performance as a bad game instead of praising schmeichel.

Other then football, rugby and the Olympics, I haven't watched live TV in almost a decade.

iPlayer is brilliant for me as I watch all the shows I want, when I want - is no big deal if the shows are only on there as you can watch them on your TV, computer, phone etc.

Thats fine <ok> Don't need any more publicity about how good Schmeichel is!

BBC has Family Guy and American Dad without adverts, thats pretty much all its got going for it.

Little Britain was created years ago, been nothing good on it for years.

Can't agree Macca, BBC 4 has some great documentaries and educational programmes. I find the comedy on BBC 3 puerile and amateurish - It very much feels like b-TV.

That said, it's always a shame to have fewer options in life. So what do we get instead? Will the TV licence price go down? Lol.

I agree on BBC Four, there's always top stuff on there, but the BBC seem to be getting rid of the channel that appeals to arguably the largest demographic (teens and young adults) and keeping all the channels that you could say pander to an older segment of the population. That in my opinion is a big mistake.

It'll still going exist online though. Young people will bother to watch it like that, older people won't. It will still have a £30m budget.

I don't mind seeing BBC2, BBC3 and BBC4 all being dropped if they are replaced by BBC Trifle ... a channel dedicated to that wonderful pudding in all its' glorious derivations ... it would indeed be a better world ...

If young uns are going to go online to watch videos, they'll go on YouTube or something similar.

Just because it still exist online doesn't mean it is justified to remove it from TV.

A better idea would be to move CBBC and the other kids' one back to how they used to be and get rid of those stupid channels.

To be fair, I don't think it'll be too long before all stations exist online (not just illegally, like they do now) and all TVs will connect directly to internet. The options then will be virtually limitless.

I mostly agree, but I would personally include QI and Have I Got News For You.

Luckily BBC has the FA Cup back soon, so some of the schedule will be back to live club footie.

MOTD is pretty much the only thing I watch live on TV anymore, though that's starting to get a fair bit of unjust criticism. I'd always rather watch it than the Sky alternatives, just like I carry on using the BBC sport website first and foremost. I also pretty much only watch BBC three for Family Guy/American Dad.

Couldn't help smiling at the irony - the only thing you watch live is a program of recordings ... <laugh>
