I'll just post this yet again. How can people still believe that we are going to get a sponsorship deal comparable with the top 6? Tigers or not we would get a deal similar to the rest of the clubs in the league which is an average of around £4M. We get that much for finishing a couple of places higher in the league. We can get sponsorhip without a tacky name and I refuse to believe that a prospective sponsor will demand a name change after seeing how much opposition there is from the general media. They will not want to assosciate themselves with the public relations car crash that is Allam.
If I was pumping tens of millions into business I didn't know about I'd employ people who where experts in marketing and running them kinds of businesses.
I posted the other day: if dropping the name City is such a finance winning idea, why haven't the others done it before?
I realise you said "not massively" but do you honestly think many people would stop going because of a name change? Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly want to see the name changed but if it does I don't know anybody who would stop supporting 'The Tigers'.
I think it would be hundreds, rather than thousands, but I do know of quite a few myself who will stay away on principal if it's changed(some will still do away's). Fortunately, I don't expect it will be necessary.
There are no plans to change the name of this forum, so if anything, it would be the Hull Tigers fans that would need to start their own, or remain here with the Hull City AFC fans.
If the name changes, why would the Hull City AFC fans remain here? There wouldn't be a club in any league, let alone the PL called that. Mick will change the forum name to reflect the name of the club. Either stop lieing, or burying your head in the sand. Suggesting the name of the forum on this site wouldn't change is just being petulant.
I'm not 'suggesting' it, I'm telling him what's been discussed. Mick has said he'll go with what the board users want. There are no plans to change the board name. It'll be sad to lose you, but I hope you and your fellow Hull Tigers fan enjoy the new board you must be setting up.
Ironic of me to say I have my head buried somewhere? Don't they teach you punctuation at Journo School? Interesting to note that rather than actually disagreeing with my points, you just feel the need for a petty dig at me. See, that's irony right there. I mock you for having a dig at me, while I have a dig back at you. The forum name will reflect the name of the team.
Oh I see, so you won't all be leaving or stopping supporting the club after all? That's great news, Dr Allam is right it seems.
