So in your eyes now that the almighty CTID (or is CTWD) have out manoeuvred the imbeciles that are the Allam's what is your hoped for outcome. Bretta man as new chairman and you as his well meaning goffer!
""""However, an application from another club for the name 'Hull Tigers' was submitted to the FA """" Any one have any idea who this club is ???
no club , a poster on CI who thought it would be "clever" .... worked well eh ? up until that point negotiation was possible .. but this CTWD guy thought otherwise ... but hey .. best interests and all that .. Ill edit when I find the link although unlikely as CI got hacked since then .. so don't hold out hope *edit* just checked , posts go back to January ... no chance of finding it sorry* OLM should tell you who it was .. was it "tenfoottiger" ?
On that point does anybody know why the Allams got first pick at the name if someone else had already applied? Surely the FA should treat all clubs equally?
it wasn't a club .. it was a single person instigating this whole thing .. no players, no ground, no manager .. 1 person .. that's it well done CTWD
you mean the guy who owns a club with players , manager , staff and a team in the premier league ... no comparison at all ... stop clutching at straws please if I remember the first post from him it was along the lines of "visited the ER FA today and tried to register "Hull Tigers" ... in support of you lot , lets see what happens .. a week later he was saying fan ownership is the way forward and proposed a "german model" .. wont happen and he is the sole reason this has gone as far as it has ,..... but he is CTWD at least eh ?
But how did the Allams get wind of this so called "other club' , then that must mean the FA told them so, but why should they have done so.
And the players, managers, staff and team instigated this name change too? I'm sorry, but it was AA and AA alone who wanted it. No clutching at straws, just telling it how it is.
Only read the first page so I might have missed it, but people seem to be missing the distinction now that the club will be up for sale, rather than that the Allams will just walk away with the potential of liquidating the club to get their loans back. Presumably like Ashley with Toon if we don't find a buyer they'll remain owners. 'Putting the club up for sale' does not equate to walking away.
And also does not equate to being relegated and heading for extinction, like every idiot poster on the HDM website seems to think.
It's CTWD and we obviously don't believe the Allam's to be imbeciles, we just don't believe that a name change is necessary, nor do we believe it will benefit the club. We hope that the outcome will be a rejection of the application by the FA, leading to a review of other opportunities to increase revenue. Ideally, a resumption of discussions with the council and a concerted effect to better engage with the local community to grow the club and put recent events behind us. Personally, I have no desire or intention of playing any part in the running of the club.
It was TFT and you can't register a person with the FA, he applied to enter next seasons Sunday league with a team called Hull Tigers. The local FA never processed the application, they just informed City and binned it, so it never went anywhere. It's a nonsense to say that before this negotiation was possible, we tried several times to get another meeting with AA, but he wouldn't even respond to our letters. AA was always going to apply to change the name to Hull Tigers, TFT's application may have brought the application forward a month or two, but AA had already decided to change it for next season, so would have put the application in by now regardless. I'm not aware of TFT actually being a CTWD member, though he obviously supports the cause.
As I've said before, I have no interest in being on the board of Hull City Tigers Limited, or whatever other name it acquires over time. My desired outcome is that Assem Allam sits down and recognises that by working with the fans and the council he can build the Hull City of his and our dreams. A successful Premier League team that is self-financing. Part of my desired outcome will be him and his family getting every penny of the money they have lent the club back. They saved the club and should get what they are entitled to. I'm sure if he did that he would very quickly earn the respect of all Hull City supporters. But that is up to him.
A link to a HDM story on CI from nov 2013 . Cant see up until that point negotiation was possible.Looks to me he had made is mind up .http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Inab...ce-Hull-City/story-20065723-detail/story.html 'Inability to buy KC Stadium freehold' could force Hull City name change to Hull Tigers by owner Assem Allam By Hull Daily Mail | Posted: November 12, 2013 Comments (79) HULL City owner Assem Allam has signalled his intentions to press ahead with a proposed name change of the club in early 2014, with Hull Tigers still his controversial preference. Allam caused outrage amongst supporters on the eve of the new season when announcing plans to sacrifice 109 years of history with an unprecedented re-brand of Hull City AFC. And despite concerted attempts from fans to bring about a u-turn, Allam has made it clear he will not back down in a statement outlining his long-term vision. Citing commercial and marketing reasons for the proposed changes, the club's owner and chairman revealed a review is underway with a final decision to be made "early next year." Tellingly, Allam reiterated his preference is for the unpopular Hull Tigers option. The statement released last night has angered supporters' groups who have rallied against the changes. Just 11 days ago, a collective of fans' organisations met with Allam at the KC Stadium to discuss the proposals and were promised no changes would take place "without benefit" for the club becoming clear. A consultation period designed to assess the "anticipated global marketing impact" will be the next step, but those supporters challenging Allam's views have voiced their disappointment at the latest developments. In the statement, Allam said: "I believe the representatives at the meeting accepted that there is a wider issue at hand, in that we need to ensure the club can sustain itself through commercial income. "Having been deprived of opportunities to acquire the stadium freehold, which would have enabled us to create the infrastructure in the surrounding area, we will now need to focus on generating commercial income from elsewhere. A shorter club name will hopefully enable us to do so, with a stronger, quicker marketing impact over the world." The club's business title was changed from Hull City Association Football Club to Hull City Tigers Ltd in the spring before Allam created a storm a week before the new season when first voicing his controversial plans to be re-branded as Hull Tigers. In an interview with the Mail he claimed City was "common" and a "lousy identity." Although Allam referred to the club specifically as "Hull City Tigers" in the statement released yesterday, that is only the title under which the club is recognised by Companies House. The Premier League and Football Association have already made it clear that the club remains known as Hull City AFC when results or fixtures are published and any changes would require their approval. The City Till We Die group, formed to protect the name of Hull City AFC, responded strongly last night. "We remain puzzled that Dr Allam cannot distinguish between the name of his holding company and the football name of the club he owns," they said. "Until he registers a new name with the Football Association, the club remains Hull City AFC. His belief that we are already called Hull City Tigers, a name ripe for shortening, is therefore spectacularly ill judged and erroneous. "We remain eternally grateful to Dr Allam as the saviour of Hull City AFC and the man whose money propelled City to the Premier League. But we believe a man that breaks FA rules, breaks his own promises within days and rides roughshod over our club's proud history should not go unchecked. "We remain determined to do everything we can to retain Hull City AFC as our club name. Our campaign continues - indeed with this announcement it is clear that it has only just started.
Was it? I seem to remember Allam saying nobody tells him how to run his businesses. Really inviting negotiations there, eh?
As far as I know it was the guy who runs the magazine 'tenfoot city' or whatever its called , nothing to do with CTWD The idea that this forced the Allams hand is ridiculous though , you should think about who told you that and why they would say it
