blooddy nora, if that was the best we can summon up for a national team we have an embarassment awaiting in Brazil.

if Thudd and Davies aren't an improvement on what was on show I will eat my hat. and all my wife's hats.

Only two good things came out of tonight's match:

    1. The Southampton lads hopefully showed Woy what an idiot he is for not starting them
    2. I haven't heard Bitter Sweet Symphony in ages, class tune.

I will be pleasantly surprised if we progress beyond the group stage in Brazil. As for being 28/1 to win it I think the bookies are being rather cautious - their ££££ would be safe at 280/1

He's absolutely right, I can even see Costa Rica beating us for crying out loud.

I love how the media are building our group up as the group of death when we all know Italy and Uruguay will piss it.

We were never ever the Group of Death, even if our side was a good one.

The Group of Death is Group G - Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA.

I think if we played our 11 best players, in their proper positions, we have a good chance of making it through our group.

Unfortunately Hodgson's a ****e manager and we'll probably start Sturidge on the wing and Smalling at RB.

Group G is easily the group of death. 2 teams in the top 4, USA at 13 and Ghana who has 9 players in the champions league and is far better than there silly 37th place ranking. I think the US will actually finish last in the group.

If we turn up we'll piss the group, Italy are nowt special but do play well when they want to, Uruguay are absolute complete and utter ****e.

We should definitely at least qualify, Italy could pip us to first place, but get a draw in that first game and we've done it I'd say.

We're certainly capable of getting out the group if we play our best team, but as has been suggested, Woy will probably **** it up.

    Hart
    Johnson Cahill Terry<whistle> Shaw
    Gerrard Wilshere
    Sterling Rooney Lallana
    Sturridge

Could easily swap Sterling for Barkley, Milner, Chamberlain, Townsend, and err Adam Johnson? Maybe not because Roy is blind. I'd also quite like to see Gareth Barry close to the 11 but again, Roy is blind.

Personally I wouldn't be set on starting Rooney either, I wouldn't mind seeing a three in behind of

    Johnson Barkley Lallana.

As well as Shaw did last night, I still see Baines as a vital cog. For starters, our attacking free-kicks are an embarrassment without him, and he is seriously good at them.

This seems to be Woy's thinking at the moment:

    On the plane
    Hart
    Foster

    Johnson
    Cahill
    Jagielka
    Baines

    Gerrard
    Wilshere

    Rooney
    Sturridge
    Welbeck

    Probable
    Walker
    Smalling
    Jones

    Henderson
    Barkley
    Milner
    Lampard

    Lallana
    Oxlade-C
    Sterling
    Townsend

    Lambert

That makes 23 - and we're a GK and LB short (one from Forster/Butland/Ruddy and one from Cole/Shaw). SO two of the list above will miss out (we're overloaded in midfield), and anyone from the list below would only get in at the expense of someone else above.

That probably means one of Henderson/Barkley/Lampard/Milner will miss out and one of Lallana/Oxlade/Sterling/Townsend.

    Other hopefuls
    Lescott
    Davies
    Caulker
    Dawson
    Gibbs

    Carrick
    Cleverley :emoticon-0106-cryin
    Barry
    Thudd

    A Johnson
    Lennon

    Defoe
Carroll (straight choice between him and Lambert)

Personally, I'd have Davies in for Smalling, Carrick in for Henderson and Lampard, and would probably leave Townsend at home. And I'd consider leaving one of Johnson and Walker at home.

Not sure why he thought bringing Milner on as a sub was in any way helpful to his planning or what he would learn from that, unfortunately I think we have a right duffer for a manager at the moment, probably the worst since Graham Taylor
