Feel sorry for Cleverley and this petition to drop him from the squad...............................not sure why he was the only one, I would have signed for most of that squad to do one. Always support my country but have very little time for these overpaid gimps most of whom are not playing for their clubs. Not even looking forward to world cup.
The England selection process is not fit for purpose, England will continue to win **** all while they stay faithful to out of form players.
Hope the Danes win. Hodgson clearly doesn't understand the idea of friendlies ie check out the fringe players, assess a couple of centre halves who they're going to need in the summer seeing as cahill is the only one they have playing for a top club, try different combos of wingers and forwards - not stick to the same tried, tested and disproven players who disappoint supporters every 2 years. As long as he's unwilling to mix it up performances and results will not change. As long as he, like so many England managers before him, stubbornly refuse to include inform Sunderland players the national team can haddaway and ****e for all I care. **** England
I want England to do well, but the selection process is remarkably flawed and as long as it continues as it is we'll struggle to do anything positive
I use to say the same about friendly games being a mix and match training drill however Hodgson will not learn anything from playing his established Players. I also think that Hodgson does pick players on merit and not down to their clubs statue just look at Southampton to highlight that. However we all know what the end result will be
England starting eleven v Denmark 1 Joe Hart, 2 Glen Johnson, 3 Ashley Cole, 4 Steven Gerrard (c), 5 Gary Cahill, 6 Chris Smalling, 7 Jack Wilshere, 8 Jordan Henderson, 9 Daniel Sturridge, 10 Wayne Rooney, 11 Raheem Sterling Subs: 12 Luke Shaw, 13 Ben Foster, 14 Leighton Baines, 15 Steven Caulker, 16 Michael Carrick, 17 James Milner, 18 Frank Lampard, 19 Ross Barkley, 20 Tom Cleverley, 21 Adam Lallana, 22 John Ruddy, 23 Fraser Forster, 24 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 25 Andros Townsend, 26 Rickie Lambert, 27 Jermain Defoe, 28 Danny Welbeck, 29 Jay Rodriguez
It would be great if we could start pressing the ball forward rather than looking to play it back all the time
