England are at least trying to play a more fluid kind of formation, with Sterling, Sturridge and Rooney interchanging positions. The Danes are clogging, fouling gits!
Can someone tell me why Wilshire is playing deep, alongside Gerrard, with Henderson in front of them? Surely Henderson (as he's playing) should be deep with Wilshire further forward? Actually they may have swapped now! Denmark playing for the draw in a friendly!!
Agreed. Not playing too badly, with Gerrard and Johnson looking very good. I think it's hard for Hodgson to get Rooney and Sturridge in the same team without playing 4-4-2. Henderson is an ok player in the Premier League, but is never International class imo. Barkley is much, much better.
Johnson is a much better player than Walker in my opinion and should be first choice at RB. Would love to see Barkley in Brazil. Like Germany did with Muller in South Africa, only 20 years but ended up as top scorer in the tournament with 5 goals. Re Henderson, I prefer him before Cleverley, imo Henderson is vastly underrated and has been one of Liverpools top 4 performers this season alongside Gerrard, Suarez and Sturridge.
England playing with no freedom Sterile football going through the motions Denmark far sharper going forward Great save Kasper
How about them Frenchies DT? 2-0 against the Netherlands, not bad. Liked the look of their lineup tonight, a central midfield trio of Matuidi, Pogba and Cabaye is mouth watering
Disagree. They used to be like that playing 4-4-2 but at least they're trying to be more fluid with the front 3/4. Replace Smalling with Jagielka, Henderson with Berkley and Sturridge with Townsend or Oxlaide-Chamberlaine and England have the makings of a decent side playing 4-2-3-1. England could well win the Euros in 2 years' time with the very good youngsters that are coming through.
