That's similar to why I've bought my UFC ticket, it's cost me £112 and I'm about 4 rows from ringside and while I was sceptical about paying that sort of money, it was an experience I didn't want to miss. Gustafsson is like a Ribery/ Zlatan of UFC, he's one of it's biggest stars and so it's pretty cool to be able to watch him live against England's best light heavyweight. Can't really see Manuwa beating him but I'm hoping it'll be a great fight.

I'm into most sports except the predominantly American ones, which are tedious.

SA v Aus is very interesting at present with Aus needing two wickets and only six overs left on day 5. Series tied 1-1. Johnson thought he had Philander caught gloving it, but it was not out. Lots of verbals to lip read. Would you really want to threaten a South African? <yikes>

EDIT: Australia wrapped up the win very quickly after I posted this!

Part of the game, I'm afraid. In 20 odd years I copped...nose broken twice, ribs 3 times, busted fingers, dislocated shoulder. Plus a few concussions, stitches, etc. My knees are now reminding me of what I did to them. The game didn't do my teeth many favours either, but I still love it...

I don't actually drive (well, I can drive but I just don't have a car and licence, never "needed" a car yet, though I would love to get one soon). I used to attend car meets with my mate and he'd to let me take the wheel when driving about the place, used to get a lot of races and a few blokes on bikes would pull of some wheelies and a couple of tricks which were great to watch, I've been in the motor when he's gone 110 before, that's probably the fastest I've been in a car.

Not a clue about the engine mate, once they start banging on about F1 I go into sleep mode or just buy myself a pint <laugh>.

150mph on A-roads? Stop. Step out of your vehicle.

I've spent an afternoon at Castle Combe. £100 got me an hours safety lesson (boring), 2 laps in the passenger seat of an Impreza, driven by a pro-driver, and then 15 laps in a race car on my own. The car had a 1600cc engine (no turbo) with four wheels attached by pencil-thin metal rods. A bit like the old Formula Ford cars. You're doing 70mph, sat 50mm off the tarmac, in something that weighs less than Citroen C1. Awesome.

Seriously, speeding on the roads does not compare to being on a proper track. I can't recommend it enough.

Apart from "Would you really threaten a South African" the rest of that was pretty much Chinese to me <laugh>

Ah once I came back around I didn't feel too bad surprisingly, considering it was one of my mates that managed to stomp on my head (who was a right lump), had a bit of a head ache but I wanted to play on though my teacher made me go see the medical lady. Luckily not suffered any of the injuries you did, though my knees may not be far off of yours, they're the reason I had to quit playing Sunday League Football, was gutted.

Ah ha! man after me own heart! oh yes, track days are incredible...the grip! I can recommend Donington Park at least its forgiving with many lines, Brands closest to me is ok, but very very technical, you get offline because someone else is in the way and its sphincter clench time! If find yourself with clear track though, as you say, 2nd to none. <ok>

I watch both codes of rugby, but the fact that everyone these days is 6'2" or more and built like a brick ****house makes it difficult for the best players with pace and/or skill to stand out. Watching a team win by kicking one more penalty than the opposition is dull.

Darts is good fun though! The recent PDC World Championship was unmissable. There are a lot of good players these days and a great atmosphere. Ooooooooh, Michael van Gerwen.

Golf's worth watching for the Ryder Cup and the Masters - again great tension and drama makes it interesting.

I'm into motorsport too, but it's all a bit too safe and predicatable in F1 these days - the best car and driver in combination resulted in a procession last year. MotoGP is more exciting, but with three riders/two manufacturers so far ahead of the rest means there is little drama.

I always loved motorbikes, especially when I was young. I worked my way up to a 650 Bonnie ( Triumph Bonneville) I did try my hand at amateur racing, but ended up in Kings College hospital with a nurse picking bits of grit out of my bum!...<laugh>

Just the boxing for me, though the way it's being run at the moment really pisses me off. That's true of a lot of sports nowdays though, I think.

The only other sports I actually go out of my way to watch are boxing, Olympic ice hockey, the NFL and international rugby--but my interest in all of them is comparatively tepid.

I used to be fanatical about a much longer list of sports, especially the North American four of NFL, baseball, basketball and ice hockey, but my interest has cooled very noticeably in the last five to twenty years.

I'm an avid tennis player and rock climber, used to be a serious rower and casual boxer, but won't watch tennis except grand slam finals. I enjoyed watching a climbing tournament, though, and would watch it again. Rowing is never on, but I think I'd watch every rowing event in the Olympics if I could. I actually have spent a good deal of time watching and learning about boxing, but would only want to watch the fighters I think are the best. I feel bad when boxers get hurt, so I prefer chess matches between top boxers. The highlight of non-football sports viewing in the last decade or so (above the Steelers' super bowl wins) has got to be Marquez KOing Pac, though. I figure Pac has so much money I don't have to feel bad when I watch him get stopped by my favorite fighter.

Oh, yeah, I'll watch golf on a Sunday afternoon. It's relaxing and very well presented.

It kills me that I've never played a single proper game of baseball in my life. Nine million games of softball and not a single real baseball game.

Sounds like heaven. As long as you don't actually have to watch the game.

Truth is I've enjoyed international 20/20 games, I don't know why I stopped watching.

I play snooker, cricket and a bit of darts. Also like to watch these either live or on the TV along with a bit of horse racing, and a bet now and again.

Over here we've got an absolute smorgasbord of sport.
where I live in NSW the main sports are Rugby League- my team won the comp last season (they're called the Roosters, similar to a cockerel) just look it up!
also we have Super Rugby comp teams from Oz,NZ & south africa play a league type of style with a playoff final at he end.
And our national football league the A league which is ok attracts the players that can't make it anywhere else and near retired journeymen - Gallas is currently playing in Perth West Australia.
The standard is about championship bordering on L1.

Sydney Roosters just tonked Wigan. I can't work out how for the top English sides look like world beaters until they play the Aussies and are made to look like amateurs. Considering the game is played little outside NSW and Queensland, how do the Aussies keep being so good?

For me it's the traditional sports like Rugby union and cricket. I do watch tennis but only really the major championships. I love what sky have done with the darts and I also love a good fight in boxing. I'm going to try and get tickets for the Froch - Groves rematch.
One of the things I love to watch the most is none of these sports but the Ryder cup in golf. Now that is drama!

Moto GP and Moto GP2 will be good to watch this season , England rugby union and track cycling with the tour de France thrown in for good measure.
Planning to see the tour when it comes to London this year.

Good shout, I forgot the Tour. Nothing like watching the best riders ditch the rest (and some of their own) on a climb like the Col de Tourmalet or Alpe d'Huez.

MotoGP is good although I suppose I was more a Rossi fan than huge MotoGP fan. I'd love him to come back and really challenge Marquez, Lorenzo and Pedrosa but I can't see it happening.
