    from HDMsport
Hull City owner Ehab Allam pens open letter to fans in tomorrow's Mail which should make interesting reading #hcafc

Really don't know what he can say. Maybe Assam is Mr Bad guy and Ehab is coming in now with the Mr Nice guy act, appealing to the fans to back them without actually insulting them.

Well considering Ehab has already been revealed to not be a pro-name changer, it will be interesting to see what it says.

I'm not sure about Ehab. He's definitely not pro name change. However for a while I've been thinking he's alright and a lot more sensible than his dad. I've limited my opposition to just Assem but I've since heard him described along the lines of: "If you think Assem is bad, Ehab is the one you really can't trust." by someone who should really know.

If it's a war cry to get us to Wembley and keep us in the Prem, then it's long overdue and fantastic news.

However if it's the usual ill-timed emotional blackmail reminiscent of someone else in his family in the days before a massive game, he can **** right off.

The fans are split enough as it is without him reminding us of it.

In reality pro name change or not, the letter will be Ehab promoting his fathers stance on the name change & the business need for the change & that fans not backing the change are putting the future existence of the club at risk

This will be interesting. I don't think Ehab has spoken about the name change

I really hope it's a rallying cry for the FA Cup.

I don't see the point in reopening old wounds. Either Hull City or Hull Tigers will be in the league next season - and whatever your personal opinion of it is - there's nothing any of us can do about it now - not us, and not even the Allams. It's all in the FAs hands now.

The fans aren't split, it's a teeny tiny minority who aren't opposed to the name change, isn't it?

The Allams can withdraw their request to change the name at any time they want but I agree now is the wrong time to be opening old wounds.

Exactly this ^^^^^ the FA will make the decision whether the name change goes ahead or not. If not then the Allams will now have to put the club up for sale !***?

The owners can withdraw their application for the name-change.

The wound has never closed, to be reopened; it is continuously bleeding the energies from the club and the team.

Ehab will play the party-line, with a twist, but essentially his father's objectives; there will be an attempt at a persuasive argument that will offer us success and silverware. The key objective will be projecting the family fortune tied up in their speculative investment.

    Edit: Sale it is then!

    A reasonable argued letter IMO.

Although I would have expected something like this following an FA decision to endorse the name change.

    Timing-wise, I'm not sure I understand this.

It's a letter for the sake of a letter. It tells us nothing new, it simple reenforces their sentiment that if the change doesn't go ahead then they'll put us up for sale.

The letter just repeats exactly what AA has said, it just does it a little more politely.

I'm not sure I see the point, unless it was just to gently remind everyone that they plan to sell up if they're not supported, just ahead of a poll.

Absolutely pointless, the only thing that seems to have gone away is the promise of any proof that a name change will generate more revenue...

I'm very hopeful the FA will do right by us so the question is when they sell up, who will buy a Club in such large debt?

Ehab, you ask us to trust you after you repeatedly lied about the name change even happening, and then continued to lie and obfuscate once you had to admit part of the truth. That's not a basis for a trusting relationship.

The letter clearly shows that there is no investor lined up that's dependent on the name change, it's pure speculation. Any promotion of the Tigers nickname could go ahead now. What possibly stops that is the poor image your dad has created.

The letter is also a threat, "back us or we go" which seems to show you feel the Hull City AFC is saleable rather than common.

It won't give us an 'edge'.

There is again no proof that it will be beneficial.

Just a slightly less aggressively put threat.

    Bin it, carry on opposing.
