Thought Rosenior had a good game. Did well going forward and was fine defensively, which is more than can be said for our other defenders. It was a good effort considering he was played out of position all game.
I don't know about top three but bottom three were Figgy, Bruce & Livermore. Figgy for being his usual useless self & adding a beautiful back pass to his performance. Livermore because he didn't even turn up & Bruce because he was just inept yesterday, the now famous free kick was woeful, under 10's stuff. And I've normally being a supporter of Bruce Jnr, but not yesterday.
U10s stuff would be to boot ot forward aimlessly like everyone seems to want him to. We tried to play proper football, lost it and got punished by a good side. Give him a break.
Exactly. If Bruce had just punted it up from where he was its easier to defend. By passing it to Elmo he, and Elmo, were trying to get a better angle for a header. Think Elmo was caught in two minds after been closed down quickly.
Long - not everything came off for him on Saturday but most of what he did was good apart from going down too easily a couple of times near the end. Davies - I just hope he's not getting too frustrated with constantly playing really well and still finding himself often on the wrong end of a scoreline through no fault of his own. We can't afford for his performance levels to drop off. Huddlestone - (mainly for the chipped left footed pass down the line into the space for Long to run onto, whilst surrounded by several Newcstle players. Virtually worth the entrance money in itself.)
We played the ball into the box all the first half and created four good chances then after we pulled a goal back we decide to play it short. Sorry, most people thought that free kick was madness.
Most people are ignoring the fact that we conceded a goal from a free kick which we punted into the box as well as the one we conceded from taking it short. Short free kicks and corners are taken by most teams most weeks and don't often lead to goals at the other end. We buggered up by losing the ball but as the first goal showed, you're no less likely to get caught on the break by banging it hopefully to the box.
