Guys, I went to the preview night in the Europa Hotel last night, which was fairly entertaining. I can't see a thread for this so have started a new one. Panel â Gary OâBrien; Robert Power; Richard Hoiles; Gordon Elliot; Mark Winstanley; Ronan & Brian Graham (Graham Bookmakers) Supreme Novices Hurdle MW â Donât fancy Irvine, all wins have been on a flat track. Vatour stole the last race with a soft lead. Fancy Vaniteux e/w RP â Agrees Vatour got soft lead last time. Wicklow Brave doesnât jump well enough. Fancies Western Boy e/w BG â Thought Vatour was very impressive last day. Rated 155 and the previous winners of this have all been rated under 150 so can take this. GE â Irvineâs form is not good. Again thinks Vatour had a soft lead last time. Fancies Wicklow Brave e/w RH â He is against the front of the market. Thinks Irvine lacks class. Vaniteux is interesting but thinks Sea Lord merits respect if the ground dries. Arkle RH â Only thing going for Rock On Ruby is course form. Thought trainer messed up last year by applying blinkers first time. Canât have him this year. Fancies Champaign Fever, Ruby is glowing about him. Danger is Trifolium GE â Agrees with Richard. Thinks Champaign Fever will take all the beating and rates Trifolium as the danger. Forecast 1-2. RP â He is a big fan of Trifolium. His 3rd in Surpreme stands him in good stead. Champaign Fever doesnât jump well enough. MW â Agrees with Robbie on trifolium. Thinks if CF is put under pressure he will get beat. ROR is too old. DB was hammered by CF so canât see any reason for the turn around. Question marks over Granduet. BG â Irish have a poor record in this. Likes Hinterland Champion Hurdle RP â this will be a tactical battle. Only way Jezki can win if he makes all. MTOY and HF are the speed horses and the lack of pace will suit these coming to the last. TNO makes mistakes and needs a good gallop as does Our Conor Thinks HR will win with MTOY as the danger. MW â Canât have Our Conor at the price. TNO doesnât jump well enough as proven against MTOY. At the price likes MTOY e/w RH â is worried about the last 50yrds for MTOY but thinks he is the one to beat. Thinks last yearâs novices are good but the pace is key. HF needs to be handier of a steady pace but thinks he will get beat. GE â This is a trappy race. Doesnât think there will be much pace and it will be down to the jumping at the last 2 hurdles. Thinks HRF will win. He heard that HF will not be wearing the ear plugs this time. They want to get him more alert. BG â MTOY is a better jumper than TNO. Leaning towards HF as he is still rated 175 whereas OC is 161. Neptune Investment Nov Hurdle BG â Faugheen â Willie Mullins factor RH â Willieâs horses are beating nothing. Hates seeing horse cantering for a full race without being tested. Likes to horses have a battle to gain experience. Fancies Ballyalton e/w. MW â he said the Pipes never thought Red Sherlock was top class. He thinks the Faugheen will go off close to evens as a lot of these will not run therefore the value of the race at the prices now. RP â the is the weakest of the novice races. Faugheen needs to brush up his jumping. He gave B Geraghty a lift on Sunday and he told him that he was sweet on Royal Boy and thinks he will win GE â Not impressed with Faugheen. Also said that Geraghty was confident of Royal Boy. RSA Chase GE â Don Cussack had a blow out on Sunday. Hoping the step up to 3m will help him. He will have tongue tie in for the first time. Solid e/w. Wasnât ideal for Ballycasey falling and would worry about that but probably still the horse to beat. RH â Fancies Corrin Wood, good jumper. Also Annacotty e/w BG â Also goes with Corrin wood RP â heâs not too worried about Ballcasey fall. But likes Morning Assembly. A strong run race would suit him and make this a stamina test. MW â Morning Assembly is solid. Ballycasey travelled to Cheltenham last year but did not run. Apparently he didnât travel well. That would be a worry for him this time. Likes Many Clouds e/w Champion Chase MW â SDG canât jump left handed. 2 runs at Chelt and 2 defeats. Arvika was well beat at Chelt last year and isnât good enough. Captain Conan best horse in the field. Bally Green to nick a place. RP â Bally Green could place of the ground dried. The horse is working well BG â SDG is stones better than the others. It will win. GE â SDG should win this with Arvika 2nd. No bet race for him. RH â soft ground is key to SDG. Thinks Captain Conan is a cracking bet Bumper RG â Shaneshill was put away for this. Vigil was visually impressive but not for him. The value is Killultagh Vic. MW â El Namoose is the best of the English. Canât have Dermot Welds horse at Cheltenham. Killultagh Vic has the best bumper time and will do for him. RP â Impressed with Shaneshill and if ground was good it would be better for him. GE â likes Black Hercules RH â no real thoughts. Doesnât fancy the English. Thinks Modus is interesting World Hurdle RH â BB showed enough last day that he can win this but the age is a worry. Reckons AP should have went to the mares then to Aintree. GE â AP is going to take a lot of beating. BB is not the same horse but will come on from his last race. Mouse Morris likes Rule the World. RG â thinks AP will win but also likes RTW RP â AFC form is poor. AP will win easy with RTW 2nd. Ruby fancies AP nd states she is a futrue Gold Cup winner. and Doesnât think BB will be placed. The form of the last race was poor if you look at who won it. MW â nothing worth noting Ryanair MW â 2 horse race. Beneficient and First Lieutenant. Back both RP - First Lieutenant RG â There has been money for Dynaste and he fancies this. Canât have First Lieutenant GE â Itâd between Beneficient and First Lieutenant RH â no real opinion in this but likes Module Triumph GE â Tiger Roll will turn the form with Guiter Pete.He will be the first Irish horse home. But not sure if he will beat the English. Good e/w bet. RH â Like Calipto. This was PN dark horse at the start of the year. Le Rocher has been on the go for a long time and needs soft ground. Thinks Liverpool would suit Activial better. RG â thinks Calipto will go off 3/1 so is value now. Like Activial RP â rode Plinth for AOB last time and thinks he has solid e/w claims. MW â Worried about the form of Nick Williams for Le Rocher. Thinks Broughton is a good bet. GE interrupted him saying bollocks, he wonât win. He had a horse finish 2nd to it and itâs not in the same class as these. Albert Bartlett MW â Briar Hill has chance. Captain Cutter e/w RP â Briar Hill is the Irish Banker. Ruby or Patrick Mullins cannot see this getting beat RG â likes Urban Hymn. Will lay Briar Hill GE â Kings Palace is a good horse but not sure about Scudamore. Thinks he push too soon on a horse. Briar Hill will win. Likes Noel Meadeâs Very Wood e/w RH â Briar Hill to win. It will be down to jockey ship and thinks Scudamore will go too soon and will get picked off by BH up the hill. Gold Cup RH â not a vintage crop. Rocky Creek wasnât fully fit last day so e/w on him. GE â Last Instalment might not stay. Could be a shock this year RG â Laying Bobs Worth RP â Takes a great horse to win back to back Gold Cups. Bobs Worth is good not great. Doesnât know is SC will stay. Last Instalment has the best form this season. And Davey Russellâs only regret since getting sacked is not partnering LI here. Triola Dâalene good e/w bet MW â Triola Dâalen worked better than BW the last day thus the reason for the entry. Rocky Creek & T43 e/w Other Horses to look out for MW â Mr Mole in Grand Annual; If In Doubt I Pertemps; Fox Rock in National Hunt Chase RP â Bayan in Coral Cup GE â Bayan in Coral Cup; Cause of Causes in Kim Muir; Swing Bowler in County Hurdle RH â Grand Vision in Pertemps; Sailers Warn in County Hurdle; Get Me Out of Here; Claret Cloak in Grand Annual; Ohio Gold Nov Hâcap Chase; Katgary in Fred Winter Charity Bets RH â Grand Vision in Pertemps GE - Arzembouy Premier in Fred Winter RP â Briar Hill MW â Mr Mole in Grand Annual GOB â Carlingford Lough in RSA
I thought so too Wooly - certainly been kept under the radar since beating Jossies Hill, virtually no one talking it up. 7's a bit skinny, but could well be less on the day
"Cause of Causes in Kim Muir" Thats a shame, fancied him to win on Day 1 if he got into the handicap chase
