Watford have today performed a U-turn and told manager Malky Mackay that he can talk to Championship rivals Cardiff about their vacant manager's position, reports the The Hornets had earlier blocked an approach from the Bluebird but have now changed their minds after Mackay made it clear he wanted to discuss the job with Cardiff. Watford will now expect to collect around £1million in compensation if Mackay takes the job. Chairman Graham Taylor said: "We have reluctantly agreed to allow Malky to speak to Cardiff." Mackay has been in charge at Vicarage Road for the past two seasons. He signed a new three-year contract in March.
Why has this article suddenly popped up? I think you will find that we had picked up on the story rather earlier in the day.
If it ends up being £1 million in compensation then I think that is a good bit of business by the club! Hopefully that will be given to whoever replaces MM and can be used towards player transfers.
Not606 News Team - It's hardly news and if you cannot read, it's yet another thread on what has become a very tedious topic..so do us a favour and **** off....
Not you Bucks (apologies I should have quoted) but the so called news team for posting a crap article!
As a matter of interest I spotted a newspaper article this morning that had a headline saying that if Malky joined Cardiff it would cost them £1m. I read on, only to find the headline was wrong. What was being said was the pay out to Dave Jones AND Watford would amount to £1m. If the news hound who wrote this got his source from that headline, he should read on.
some of you watford fans came on our board the other day questioning whether MM would consider joining us. "Owner Laurence Bassini has now spoken with the board and Mackay himself, and with the Scotsman signalling his desire to speak to the Bluebirds, the club has reluctantly agreed to the approach from the Welsh side. "The owner spoke with the board members and following Malky's request to speak to Cardiff, we have granted him permission." Is this what it's like on this forum - some idiot who thinks they know about football just posting stuff that we already know which is only going to wind us up? If we went on the Birmingham board with posts about mcleish we'd be modded so how is it different. Tools.
As far as I know, the thread started by the 'Not 606 News Team' have nothing to do with Mick, the owner of the site. Probably an overly-keen poster, trying to 'help'. Complaining about this place is a bit rude when it costs you nothing
We don't need people from other clubs or "News Team" starting threads - it smacks of desperation to increase traffic. For all we know theis poster is just an individual like us - I have complained to Maltese Mick
Well done Leo got my full support on that one ! we may not share each others views , but there is nothing wrong with your actions!
Agreed Leo - we have a good board here and we dont need the encouragement - some prem teams only have <50 threads on not606. Thats where the help is needed. Nice to see Leo and Norway getting on.........................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
