Having only enjoyed 2 games all season Ipswich away and Derby at home and with the bulk of the last season and a half being pretty awful its easy to forget just how much fun football can be. I was at Berneabu just over a week ago when they beat Elche 3-0 and was at Wembley for the cup final yesterday. Both games and in particular yesterday reminded me that football can actually be enjoyable and that was watching teams I donât care about in the slightest. Whole experience of yesterdays match including on way up to and from the ground coupled with memory of how exciting it was until extra time in Cardiff 11 years ago made me realise that if we do sort ourselves out and cling on to the play off spots get promoted in the most exciting day way possible. So while this season has been dreadful and it is infuriating as we slip out of contention for getting second spot it is worth remembering that a day out and victory at Wembley would make it all worth it. Noise when Suderland scored yesterday was unbelievable and watching the City fans go mental when they scored the second made me realise that as a hypothetical winning the play off final is the best way to go up It would be ****ing amazing to watch Rangers at the Wembley and if we won that would be the best day Iâve ever had as a Rangers fan. Also Remy and Adel loans would have ended by the playoffs and I would 100% put them both straight into the team. So as bad as its been recently its actually possible that this season could turn out to be one of the best (certainly in my life time) all on the back of 3 play off games
Nice post PD There are a dozen QPR fans here in Oz planning for a trip back home if we make the play off final. it aint cheap but i dont see anyway I'll ever see our club play at Wembley again.
Seemed like a great occasion yesterday, it would be good to see Rangers at Wembley again. It would be a big weekend for me as my 60th is on the Sunday.
Yep must admit I find that thought somewhat exciting...... Good post PD especially as tomorrow (4th) marks the 47th (yes it does say 47th) anniversay of our only cup success.....we are well overdue another trip to Wembley.....
After the FA Cup Final replay, the Milk Cup and the Playoff final in Cardiff I have developed complete paranoia of a playoff final at Wembley.
I'm afraid not. Only the squad listed as at the end of the recent transfer window can participate in any playoff matches... Should we make them.
Love the idea of a day out at Wembley but I don't know if I could take the inevitable disappointment of missing out, especially if it went to a shoot-out...
SWP will score the winner in the shoot out having fallen over as he was shooting, but connecting with the ball with his left knee, having sending the keeper the wrong way. Don't foorgetb you read it here first!
Should we make the play off final I think I should also stay away given my record. I could not get home for the 67 final but made the Cup Final and replay and was also at the Milk Cup Final. I think a dark room with a bottle of 18 year old Macallan may have to suffice.
More likely that the keeper curled up pi**ing himself laughing. Just the thought makes me smile. Thank you.
Is that a fact - I thought those two season loans were contracted through until June 30th? Is Fulham sub-letting Adel to Milan or did they return him to us first?
I think that's right..........unfortunately!! It's written lads...............Us v Reading at Wembley!!
