Apparently Maradona was first with this, but only pulled it off in a couple of competitive matches, Zinedine Zidane over 80 times in matches!

When I was a kid we all called it a "Maradona" or a "Maradona Twist", the first time I saw it referred to as a roulette was on a computer game.

My favourite was Bale's last year, players often use them when they're not necessary but it was the only way Bale could keep the ball without being on the end of a two footed leg breaker on this occasion.

Its also been called a Zidane '360' and a Zidane 'roll'.

Bale done Maicon with it v Inter on that amazing night. :)

I think Sandro managed one by default a little while ago, looked like he'd lost it under his feet spinning around and it just appeared in the right place. <laugh>

Any player for virtually any team is up for sale. Only an idiot would believe otherwise.

This is a little unfair. In recent years he has fought really hard to keep top players, Modric and Bale were both given a tough time in waiting for their moves, and Bale only went for a world record fee, Modric only after giving us an extra year. If Vertonghen or Paulinho think they will just stroll and say they are off in the summer, they are in for a rude awakening. Particularly if they want an English club.

  11. Levy has certainly fought hard to get top dollar for our players. I'll give him that.

But look at LFC's chairman; he loves Goofy so much that he even breached the terms of his employment contract to keep him.

    Levy is a human contract.
What he states at any time, is law. So he is never in "breach of contract" . :)

Almost everything and almost everyone has their price almost all the time. And I wonder about the almosts.

Who was it who analyzed John Henry re:Suarez as Henry blowing smoke up his own arsenal to feel like a big man?...

And the "Maradona roll" but that's just the way he rolls up a note before hitting the coke.

There's also the "Scott Parker crawl":
