We should definitely be going into this game with confidence - they are there for the taking. Get an early goal and silence the crowd, then run riot.

I was afraid that Mata would have a big impact on the team - in terms of boosting morale at the very least and having a knock on effect on other players to raise their game (ala Ozil at Arsenal). Thankfully, it's just not happened for them and I want to humiliate them.

The only way we will lose or drop points is if we do an Arsenal and bottle it, and play to the occasion.

I am..... why? cos the last games we played internationals after we f'd up. rodgers seems to need 3-4 days to prepare a team not 1.5 to 2. we'll have everyone back, assessed trained and prepared for the mancs... so i hope for a big performance in terms of pressing hard

It will certainly be a tough game... but honestly thought Soton would be the tougher of the two.

We got a win against Soton away so should be good enough for United.

Can never rest on your laurels though... as said above, this is their cup finals. Rooney and RVP are both capable of goals.

I don't think their defense can handle SASAS... but this is not a push over team.

Upper mid table needs to be treated seriously in this league.

Yes if we arrive with focus, lack of games can make us lose our sharpness. Although recently we've been outstanding, just need to keep it like that

Don't think they can handle us being good! It was easy the past few years.

It'll be tough. Man Utd will be up for this every bit as much as we will. Think there will be only one goal in it and hopefully we will win. Sturridge to toe-poke the winner. ;p <ok>

They got us once at OT this season, hopefully we can get the result there. Was our last win at OT the 4-1 by the way? ( League)

Not sure. Possibly? My memory is terrible for this sort of thing. <doh>

I think we'll play better this time at OT. I think there's a confidence growing in this squad which will be hard for the mancs to stifle.

    maybe,

don't forget its a rivalry game and form goes out the window.

they have the players to do us damage just as much as we do, also they will be very motivated for this game if it stops us even thinking about the title, although most of us aren't really yet, they will want to put a stop to that if they can.

It will probably be the first time this year that Moyes gets his tactics and team selection correct too. <laugh>

exactly, be sods law, wont be down to him though, it will be the old utd rear guard if they get anything.

can see the beebs headline now if they won, "master stroke by moyes to dampen the reds title hopes" or some ****e like that.

I agree form is mostly irrelevant in this game. If the red mancs can throw a spanner into our season, I'm sure they will do. Much as we would them were the table(s) turned. Hopefully, we can emulate them in that we either get a scrappy 0-1 win, or lose and then win the rest of our games. TBH, I'd take either of those options in a heartbeat. <laugh>
