Aberdeen are keen to tie down manager Derek McInnes to a new deal to reward him for his success at Pittodrie. McInnes, who has just over a year to run on his current contract, has guided Aberdeen to the League Cup final, the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup and also second place in the Scottish Premiership. Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne is now ready to offer McInnes a bumper new deal to secure the manager's long-term future and ward off any potential suitors. "I'm very conscious of the reputation Derek has and how it is growing," Milne told the Sunday Mail. "We'll need to work hard to make sure Derek stays here for a substantial period of time Still, we know best eh...
Sometimes a good manager has to fail somewhere as part of the learning process - maybe we were that club for Del because he certainly made some mistakes
Despite how poor the SPL is, Del has done a good job there. I just wish it had worked out for him with us
Alex Fergusson was an Aberdeen manager, perhaps Mcinnes could replace Moyes in about 10 years time, or 27!
I do think that McInnes underestimated the strength of the Championship, but I think that us laughing at the state of the Scottish leagues is a bit rich. We're a struggling League 1 team, and I'm willing to bet that most SPL teams would mop the floor with us. I reckon Aberdeen would give us a footballing lesson. The fans should be mostly to blame for the sacking culture at this club. The board were ultimately responsible, but they acted on the fans reaction, and they wanted McInnes out way before he was out. McInnes is a good manager, and I too reckon he'll end up in England at a much higher level than us. He'll thrive, and it will be because he has a good owner behind him, something that he didn't have when he was with us.
When a sub runs on for a corner and fails to mark up, when a team cant hold a line it isnt fans fault. It has to be that the Manager is poor at Managing. He was really ****ing rubbish at City. Doesnt matter about anbody else he couldnt coach what he had and what he brought in. Doing well somewhere else so what at City he was three and fours down at half time with his team and tactics.
er....I dont like to sound like an old c_nt dear Shine, but... Bill Shankly Matt Busby Alex Fergusson Jock Stein Bob Paisley Alex McLeish, Owen Coyle and Kenny Dalglish, Tommy Docherty, Jim McLean, George Graham, Walter Smith, Gordon Strachan, Owen Coyle, Alex McLeish and David Moyes and so on........ If there is one thing Brazil can do apart from grow coffee its play football, and if there is one thing Scotland does apart from distill booze its produce great managers. The history of English football is rotten with fantastic Scottish managers. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...managers-fit-the-bill-at-the-top-of-the-game/
Correct, and it started with Gary Johnson from the direction of BBC 606. Because why ? So we tailed off a little towards the middle of a season, and lost our shine. The annihilation of Johnson guaranteed him the sack when it affected the players as it destroyed GJ's ring of confidence. This in turn destroyed Lansdown's desire to be the centre of involvement, even his hunger for Reds glory, and resulted in austerity measures that have crippled the quality of our playing staff. Just look at how many very good players have left the club during the last 4 years, and it all began with Johnson. And that began with a so called group of supporters
Sorry he was very very poor here, the scottish league is like leauge 4.two teams and that is your lot. One manager in the sucession of poor appointments by BCFC.
