No I ripped my shell suit climbing through a window last night. Just off to Sports Direct to get a new one, then I must get my head down ready to take the van out to fill up with hubcaps tonight <ok>

I was finding things mildly amusing, not hilarious. If you find what I said 'hilarious' you don't know good comedy. ;)

And point 2...what sort of layabout isn't up at 7.30am on a Monday morning?! :O

Currently Soldado has 6 goals and 4 assists and Ozil has 4 goals and 8 assists meaning it's quite possible that Soldado could finish the season with better stats than Ozil. Now THAT would be a funny moment for this thread.

    Come on Bobby! :D

Loldado versus Woezil vying for worst La Liga import....who'd have thought it!

That's nearly £70m worth of player. Still time for them both to live up to their billing though, I guess.

Problem for Ozil is that as a CM, he doesn't have the benefit of blaming poor service
for any of his woes. Strikers at least have that card to play (though it doesn't excuse Soldado) .

  15. From what I'm reading, it's looking highly likely that, of two of the worst ever signings in the EPL. Woezil will come off as the worst.

The one thing I will credit Soldado for is that he admits he's struggled and not producing the goods and that he believes he will eventually adapt and is facing the challenge head on. He also thinks very highly of the crowd for the support he receives, sometimes it's nice to hear that from players. Many who struggle tend to just bitch and moan and then before long wish for a transfer away, Bobby's determination and willingness to succeed is somewhat a breath of fresh air. Here's hoping he can turn that determination into goals!

He's fluffed far easier chances than the one he just scored. it was more difficult than it looked tbh, the first touch was oh so important annd it was a perfect take on the run, it was a quality finish imo, and when he put his hands to his face in disbelief/relief, not just that it had gone in, but not ruled out, i couldn't help share that moment with him as a fan. I hope this break between matches doesn't affect him, he could have done with pulling on Spurs shirt again 3/4 days later, but hey ho, we'll see.

Yeah the finish was superb and like you, shared his relief when he celebrated with his hands on hand. I know I've mugged him off a lot with the Loldado quip but it's clear to see that he's an incredible finisher when he wants to be. Scoring against Cardiff has hopefully served as a great confidence booster going into the Chelsea match, if there was a time he'd wanna make a name for himself, then there won't be many better opportunities than ones at Stamford Bridge to shine on.

I was very surprised when Soldado put that away, as he'd already missed a couple of easier chances.
Having one disallowed against Dnipro that was a very narrow, albeit correct, offside decision must've added to the pressure that he was feeling.
He needs to push on now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him left out of the starting lineup to face Chelsea, which is a little unfortunate.

I've noticed that boxers who say, "I lost because the other guy was better," tend to come back as strong as ever, and the excuse makers don't. It says something that fans keep pulling for Soldado, even if we joke about his problems.
